- How to draw contour in QGIS in very easy method without visiting the site.
First I have chosen an unknown location for drawing contour.
Then I have created some regular points over there.
Thereafter I have converted the points to KML format
Then with the help of GPS Visualizer elevation website I obtained elevation data free of cost and converted it to GPX layer.
Then imported the GPX layer in QGIS
Thereafter drawn contour.

Brilliant. I do work in remote areas around the world and try to work with contour maps based on much coarser grids than you present. So thanks for a clever and clear solution. It's a pity that Google limits the availability of the data to professionals. Also other companies let you do a similar thing as a test but over a 100 by 100 meters only. Useless! Thanks for lifting the fog!

my QGIS does not have contour under the vector tab. it has it under the raster tab and a different window opens up. one where i cannot select the waypoint reference
since my QGIS only allows me to use a DEM to generate contours from, i am unable to use the direct waypoint to contours command that you have used. please explain how this can be resolved. (converting waypoints to DEM using SAGA natural neighbour plugin is of no help as the plugin is unable to generate DEM)
It can be resolved by installing latest stable version 3.22 of qgis
you can instal the plugin called contour plugin, it is the same

Check again and install the plugin
GPS Visualizer showings an error like "The profile program requires that you upload GPS track data, waypoint files will NOT work"

Dear is the contour accuracy of this method is better than online google earth pro contour.

Accuracy is same. Because both use GPS Visualizer. But as per our method it is very easy and you can place the points at a regular interval.

Point spacing minimum 10.000000 meter is Ok. But 3 m is not available to convert gpx file. How can I get spacing for 1m.
Sir elevation data is given for 10m, however you can create contour of 1m too by applying 1m as controur interval

Yes you can
Right click on the contour layer and then export it to dxf format
Also AutoCAD is not required. In QGIS everything is possible. We will upload more videos about QGIS

Hello can I ask something? I followed every step but the problem is when I look at my attribute table, everything seems null instead of giving me elevation point therefore I cant get the contour drawing since everything seems flat. Do you know how to solve this?
I had the same problem. Makesure the file you are passing to the elevation generator is the one that has the index in the first column.
Could you do this. I too had the same problem. Everything comes Null in the elevation column
