I used the keurig rinse pod, which was so simple for the cup side. Run through once, then a second time. Done. As for the pot, I’ve not had to descale it yet. But if you dilute the solution keurig has too much, it won’t be as effective. I suggest using the pod for the cup side & the solution for the pot side. Just my observation.
Good video. Only gripe is it’s written to run a total of 4 rinse brews per side before you’re ready for coffee. So 4 total with the carafe and 4 total for the kcup side
After having a single Kcup maker for years we craved a pot being made on the weekends. Researched a bunch of models and choose this one. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxL8yFdHfPF4ObeIwJ5JdM3i_9XLnbjUC2 We love it! We wanted a water reservoir for the single cup so we didn’t have to pour water in every cup but the other models it fed the water to the coffee pot to so by the time we made one pot we’d have no water left. This model has the traditional pour in feature for the pot and the reservoir for the cup which works great for us. Love how there is a bunch of holes pouring the water over the coffee, makes it taste much better. Only drawback I have is the way the lid is angled on the pot section it’s hard to get the last bit of water out of the pot into the machine without it spilling somewhere else.
My descale light was on and the cups wouldn’t fill up to 12 cups , it would only do about one cup 😢 so I turned the machine upside down and banged it and it fixed 🫠 the descale mesureing floating was stuck I’m assuming because after a few bangs it works perfectly fine now 😊
I followed the directions and started out good. The kpod cleaned out ok. I started the carafe and clicked for 12 cups (mine did not say to Add Water), it started up but then I just hear a noise, like sucking air and nothing is happening. My green carafe light is lit and my 12 cup is lid too but nothing is happening...I turned off and restarted. I filled the reservoir to full and clicked again the carafe and 12 cup. It makes noise but nothing happening. I turned it off and will wait 30 minutes to see if it dislodges or something. Any ideas what to do next?
I just bought this exact coffee maker last week it’s been running good until now the add water/descale light is in constantly not blinking or anything and it will only heat the water and won’t make any pods or the pot
This could be a known issue Keurig has with the lower needle basket. I would call Keurig customer care at 866-901-2739. They have great customer service.
I did everything you just said. My problem is I have coffee grounds filtering in my cup. I dont know how to clean or fix this problem. Any suggestions? Thanks
Ok…using white vinegar/water.. it ran a 12oz cup..then only runs about an 1/8th cup and shuts off..🤦🏼♀️. I cleaned the basket out, taking it apart..cleaned around the needle, using the recommended paper clip.. also the pot side only did about a 1/4 c….. must be clogged somewhere else… coffee pot side was working previously….what do I need to do?
Doing this made my K Duo not turn back on after descaling. Apparently, there's a more specific way to do the descaling you're supposed to press buttons or something before so now mine isn't working anymore and I tried everything to reset it..
Yes you can, It has the descaling solution, that they sell by itself. It also has some rinse pods which will help clean your bottom needle basket. It also has water filters. Make sure you have a water filter holder in you water tank, otherwise you will be paying too much for something you will not use. check out my video on the 3 month care kit. th-cam.com/video/dGDABdobtNI/w-d-xo.html They make a 3month kit just for the K Duo that I did a video on also. th-cam.com/video/g_OXJMNplqA/w-d-xo.html I also did a comparison video between the 2 different 3 month care kits. th-cam.com/video/mm3GO_4zG2k/w-d-xo.html

I have the same Keurig duo, but find that the machine is not pulling in water; I've saled it only twice, but this time Its plugged up, and I'm using a decaling solution. So with tha in mind, shouldI guy another K-Cup? (we were planning on buying one some months ago)
No once the heating plate shuts off it can not be turned on again without doing another brew cycle. Thanks for Watching and that would be nice if there was a seperate switch for that.
This does not come with a water filter. I have a video on how to install a filter. th-cam.com/video/qu--p6Uur_c/w-d-xo.html You can purchase it off amazon at this link amzn.to/33v6LRD
Hi my name is AL I'm in Kenai Alaska Can you help me please. 🙏 I have one of those coffee makers model number K-DUO ESSENTIALS 5000 identical to that one. I made a pot of coffee my sister's kid made a pod this morning it was brewing my coffee pot really slowly it needed to be cleaned so I was cleaning it with white vinegar and I had to keep opening up the door where you put the coffee in and shutting it to get it to brew it only made 5 cups of coffee and stopped and now all the lights are on and they will not go off if I unplug it and plug it back in the lights are still on and it will not brew a pot or a pod none of the buttons will work the pot and pod button are green and 12 10 8 cups are blue how do I fix that 😢
First off, thank you for the video! The reason I watched is because I didn’t understand why there wasn’t enough solution to do both sides, and I’m wondering if both sides don’t use the same heating element? If not, your plan to add that much water was wrong. There’s no way your cofee maker side got enough solution, diluted as much as you did. My question is, is it better to minimize minimize the amount you put through the single side or would it be better to use two bottles of solution? Either way Keurig’s instructions are very poor! Don’t even get me started on how to remove the indicator that it’s time to descaler!!
Thanks for watching and you are correct. The directions are very poor and I could have done a better job explaining it. I did another video with using Vinegar which keurig says is ok on there website but it takes longer. I am not completely sure about the 2 tanks. I would use less coffee pot side it has the warmer to get it hotter if the inside heater does not work the best. The single side is the side you want really hot because it cools off so fast after you brew a single serve. This Keurig stuff is so expensive at $12.00 bucks a bottle. It has no odor and takes a lot less time than vinegar so 2 bottle would be 24 bucks. the vinegar was only 2 bucks at walmart. But you do have to keep up on the decalling for these machines to keep working. Thanks for the input and Advice. Thanks again for watching!!!! my other video with vinegar. th-cam.com/video/qZZ9Y9FnTN4/w-d-xo.html
@@alicat8469 Wow that is not good. Sounds like there is a tube that has become clogged or pinched on the single cup side. It might take a couple cleannings with pure vinegar to get the descale light to go out. Sorry I was not much help, I think I am going to buy a used one of these and take it apart.
Is it very old, it could be built up with hard water on the inside of the heating element. I read a lot online that these Keurig K-Duo's you really have to keep up on the Descale like once a month to keep the machine in top notch order. Sorry I could not be more help. Thanks For Watching!!
Alright so my duo plus starts pumping out smoke whenever I connect it because we were using it without the filter for a couple months. Im assuming something clogged up inside because of that. Is the descaler supposed to fix that? I want to try it but im afraid it will blow up or something because smoke starts coming out from the inside a couple seconds after I plug it in.
A little update. I plugged it back in, this time without the water container. No smoke this time. I turned on the coffee cup side and put the 12oz cup in its place. I heard the startup sound and waited a good while but nothing was coming out of it. A bit later, I check the water container that I filled by pouring the bottle, and the water level went down somehow. I have no idea where that water went but none of it fell in my cup. The water is currently at about the same length as when you poured the bottle only once in this video
@@Miunim omg sorry to hear that! I was able to fix mine! 😆 but weird because mine did the exact same things but I didn’t plug mine back in for a week to let everything dry just in case

@@briandonald Be carful with Distilled water. most coffee makers do not recommend distilled. Water needs some minerals in it for the coffee maker to work correctly. Filtered water and Bottled water are ok.
This is a garbage unit. I had mine for a year and 10 months before it broke. That ment it was out of warranty. So an $80 unit lasts less than 2 years. Not very cost effective! That doesn't make sense! That one bottle of solution cleans both sides??? It looks to me like all that solution went to the pod side and then water in the coffee pot???? When you add more water to clean the coffee side then you only have water! I think I'll just buy a gallon of white vinegar since this machine has had roughly 10 pots of coffee made bcs it doesn't make a whole pot even though the reservoir shows its got enough water! Kind of a rip off when we paid $75 for a stupid coffee pot!
