Hey man, sweet vid! I‘m in Phuket, right now and struggling to find someone offering spearfishing… how did you manage to go?
I just got some local guy with a boat and we paid him 1000 bhat for the day, he didn’t know anything about Spearfishing but I’d looked at the charts beforehand and pocked a few marks
Me and a few friends were planning a trip to Thailand next year! Wasn't sure about getting a new suit/gun for it, what suit & gun did you have for this trip?
The water was 29 degrees and a rash vest + shorts was fine, but I’d recommend getting a chest pad to help load the gun. I used a 100cm gun with 1 x 16mm band. At that mark this was ideal but for bigger fish in open water might need a more powerful gun

Apologies but I don’t have his number, he’s a guy we just met on the beach! And yes took my Rob Allen 100cm, a bigger gun would have been better though as in Indonesia I was out of range of some really good fish
You'll have no problem finding boats in Thailand to take you out. Just show up at the beach and ask around.

Yes definitely....I found a local boat guy who said spearing was absolutely fine, got in at dawn...then when we got back to the beach suddenly loads of Thai guys came out with bags to hide the guns and fish!
