The 15” has a real nice clarity to it that would be useful in a tuba section context. I’ve always thought that brass bands with giant E flats sound too diffuse. The 17” would be a great quintet or Orchestra instrument.

Couldn't tell when you were playing what instrument. My guess is that the mouthpiece is waywayway too big. You're gulping for air desperately and it doesn't sound good.
