Very helpful, thorough, easy to follow. Well done. If I need additional DVDs of the same file, is there a faster way than to go through the whole process each time?
Thank you soooooo much for this. I had tried everything to get the old VHS tapes in the right format and burned correctly and nothing worked until this. Yes, it is a slow process, but it works! Grateful for your step by step instructions.
Thank you. This was really clearly explained and easy to follow. The only difference for me was that not all of the mirrors worked for downloading, but I soon found one that did. Do you know how to add / edit DVD chapters at specified (by me) points without having to buy software, please? It would help to be able to do that so that elderly relatives can easily find the exact points where the sections that I want them to see, start. (For example, on a grandchild's dancing video, without lots of conversations about is it here, there or wherever.) Thank you, again. (DaVinci Resolve looked great as well as free but doesn't work on my old pc. Using DVD Flick I can only see how to add chapters at prespecified points such as every 5 or 10 minutes.)
Thanks a ton for this video. It still works in 2021! Does exactly what I needed it to do and hadn't been able to find anywhere else for free. It takes awhile but works great nonetheless.
ive been struggling to do this for months, then i came across your video! i love how you describe what to do. im just half way through my dvd flick and am hoping IMG will pop into it at the end! ill let you know!!! thank you so huch
Brilliant tutorial, worked perfectly! It took a while to encode my 50 minute video so is there a quick way now to burn subsequent DVDs from the already encoded file?
I have been recommending this video. I would like to add that I can share how to make quick copies of the original DVD you capture and burn using this video. When you set up DVDFlick project settings, in addition to clicking "Burn project to disc", you also want to click create ISO file. You can do both together. After you are done burning your first disc, close everything. Then open just ImgBurn (not DVDFlick) and click "Write image file to disc". Browse to the ISO file you created and choose it. Set the speed to 8x for burning (your DVD drive may be able to do a faster speed). Start the burn. Makes copies fairly quickly.
Thanks for your help, yeah I'm used to the windows dvd makers and windows movie maker in the past, thanks for your video and guide to making a professional dvd :) helped me make a DVD for my child (with downloading youtube videos) to help him learn where he's struggling in school. Thank you very much
Thank you for this! I wanted to ask if I can use an avi file movie to burn to my dvd-r ? I have made a converted version of it as well in mpeg2 format but I'm curious if this is necessary, if dvd flick encodes it to work with a DVD player anyways. Thanks again
I know this video is 3 years old but I was able to use it tonight. I thought it was going to be successful. I walked away while DVD Flick was working and when I checked IMG Burn it said the last entry of the log was "I 20:16:01 Found 1 DVD±RW/RAM!" Then nothing. Your video shows that it continues automatically. What did I do wrong? This is a one hour plus video that I created and it took 3 hours plus to complete but now I'm stuck. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated!!
Hi, I followed your tutorial to the letter so thank you for that very much. I have tried to burn my compilation to DVD having saved it using DVD Flick but it doesn't open up IMGBurn as the tutorial which I have previously installed, any ideas? Many thanks.

Hi, I'm having trouble with the DVDflick! As I try to run it I'm getting a prompt to use my Microsoft Office Access 2010 disc? I followed the above link and changed the compatibility, any advice?
silly question here. Are there different types of blank dvd disc..i need to convert 32 bit to 64 bit on Windows 10..so will I just buy an ordinary dvd disc? like basically can I get cheap ones from Argos or whatever lol yeah?
Yes there are different formats, you can get DVD-r or DVD+r and also dual layer for both formats if you have a new(ish) DVD drive it should write to both formats but might not do the dual layer.

Thanks for the quick reply. I've created some menu screens in photoshop...can I use those? DVD Flick isn't accepting my .mp4 video file...What should I do?
It works but the quality is poorer than I expected. Probably doesn't help that DVD Flick only lets me use 8 threads when my cpu has 12... Now I'm left wondering if burning dvd's is just impossible to do at an okay quality or if this software just sucks.
Hey, DVD standard quality is 720 x 480 (or 720 x 576 if NTSC) this is very low quality compared to modern standards - for example the lowest resolution on a modern iPhone is 720p which is 1280 x 720 this equates to the amount of pixels on screen, so in general the higher the figures the more pixels and the better the quality. Your CPU thread count has nothing to do with the finished DVD (this will only help with how quick the dvd in Windows is produced) I suggest that if you want better quality then maybe look at buying a Blu-ray Disc burner as these support 3840 x 2160 (2160p) but be aware your footage you are burning to the disc should be the same resolution or higher. Hope this helps.
okay so i downloaded both programs fine and i plan on burning a full 2 hour movie onto my DVD disc but before I do it and mess it all up, I was wondering if you could tell me if this program is actually capable of burning 2 hours worth of movie to disc. Also, if it is, how many gigs of space should i have on the disc because i currently just have normal dvd-r discs with 4.7gb of space. Thanks :)
+Abbi Heather - Hi Abby, Sorry for the late response - I doubt you will fit two hours on one DVD it all depends on what quality the original video was shot at.
my dad burned me 2 movies onto 1 disc a few times before with movie maker and i managed to get a couple of those discs, i just don't know if the program will support them or if i should use something else but i want full movies onto a disc so i can watch them with my family
Yeah I know what you mean - the only way would be to try it out, if you watch the video from about 3:35 on you will see a bar on the left in orange, when you add the video file this shows you how much capacity you have taken up (in the tutorial when i add the test movie it takes up 1%) and also shows how much you have left. Video files can be compressed using different programs Handbrake is a good one and there are lots of paid ones as well if you are struggling to fit on a DVD.
I need help, my files are around 200 Mb but when I add them to the project it takes 1.4Gb. What's the issue, do I need to make my original files smaller?
So I have question, img burns automatic? does it start on its own? I tried and after it was done from dvd flick it ejected disc and then img burn open and asked me to load disc again.... it that suppose to happen?
No it should just burn the disc then eject after the burn is complete- what you explained when burning a disc in windows 10 can happen when the disc you inserted is already full or already used then it will eject it and ask to insert a blank disc.
thank you , I tried few times and used new dvd blank and still after it completes in dvd flick the imgburn does not pick up and start to burn, having trouble.
We ask for how to copy a DVD from one DVD to another. And no where does it tell you how this is done. And excuse me but we have allot of problems understanding what you are says (voice to low and/or maybe accent) anyways there are others other we will get our question answer sooner or later. But you do give us the download sites clearly thanks for that.
Hi AllSeeingEye - DVD flick should be no problem but you have to be careful when installing IMG Burn as since I made this video they changed the installer to include different types of spyware. When installing make sure you select the option to not install any extras etc - if you do a quick google IMG burn spyware there are several blogs / forums on how to install it without any nasties.
Hi Jonathon sorry only just seen this comment, sorry the program only allows menus to insert a intro you would have to create one separate in a different program.

+benjamin Roba Hi thanks for the comment - unfortunately Windows 10 (currently) does not include any software that will burn a DVD for use on a DVD player to show say a home movie or picture slide show. See Microsoft official advice here support.microsoft.com/en-gb/instantanswers/2f025e05-df01-4587-afc6-a8ca96ce9a66/make-dvds-on-windows-10 Windows Movie Maker used to be good for this but is currently not compatible with Windows 10. So that is why I created this video to give people the option to create a DVD for free. You can use Windows 10 to back up files to a DVD but these file types will not be recognised by a standard under TV DVD box. Hope this helps.
+matthewnosko1 Hi yes you can get that sometimes as imgburn sometimes tries to install pup programs (potential unwanted programs) make sure when you install IMG you uncheck any other program install as the installer is working.
Hi Lizzy, You are probably trying to land the containing folder into DVD Flick - the correct way is to select individual files or multiple files within the folder.
Just to let anyone who's thinking of downloading ImgBurn know, Mirror 1 and Mirror 2 from the link in the description both caused my Avast to react. Mirror 3 was fine, and I didn't try any of the others.

I receive: An error occured during the encoding process...
Thanks! Now I can pirate kung-fu panda 2 and sell it at inflated prices in my local bounce-u!👍

it wont allow me to burn project to disc on dvd flick
+roberto leal Hi did you install img burn ?
yes
+roberto leal I know this might be a stupid question but does your computer have a DVD writer and not just a DVD player ?
usb side compact disc dvd rom
great tutorial
It wont accept my photo folders containing videos and photos
Hi Lizzy, You are probably trying to land the containing folder into DVD Flick - the correct way is to select individual files or multiple files within the folder.
I keep ending up with zip files
thx
Just to let anyone who's thinking of downloading ImgBurn know, Mirror 1 and Mirror 2 from the link in the description both caused my Avast to react. Mirror 3 was fine, and I didn't try any of the others.
