  • Complete build of the 1/24 scale Toyota Gazoo Racing TS050 Hybrid 2019 WEP
The TS050 Hybrid, which won the 24 Hours of Le Mans races consecutively in 2018 and 2019, has undergone a high level of improvement in its power train, including material of high power lithium battery cells and electrolytic solution. Further improvements have been made in reliability and battery deterioration prevention in preparation for the 2019-2020 season, in order to make it possible to use the hybrid boost until the end of the race. While there are no major modifications to the engine, several improvements have been made to decrease friction.
With regards to aerodynamics, the shape of the front of the chassis has been revamped with a high nose and embedded side mirrors. This will reduce drag and improve downward force, and is expected to increase their competitiveness through improved aerodynamics.
Compared with last season's non-hybrid cars, the TS050 Hybrid must now comply with Equivalence of Technology (EoT), and the weight of the hybrid car has increased by 36kg in the eighth race, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, when compared to the first race. Instant fuel flow for the non-hybrids was raised by 43.75%. Through EoT, the difference in ability between the hybrids and the non-hybrids has decreased, and we may see more updates depending on what happens this season. Additionally, this season will see the implementation of the success handicap, which makes adjustments based on how many points one has accumulated by the previous race. All the while, the TS050 Hybrid has refined its chassis and finer components for further improvements in its capabilities and the reliability of all of its parts, contributing to Toyota's mission to make ever-better cars.

Just found your channel as I'm building this kit at the moment and have found your vids a great resource. I've had troubles getting the paint to line up across the various parts so have them stripping at the moment to re do the paint. Certainly is a quite difficult build and yours is amazing, especially being your first car build. I do only cars, Gt, LeMans, supercars, F1, and have only been building for about a year and a half so still learning the tricks of the trade. Have subbed and look forward to following your builds in the future.

Thanks for your comments and thanks for subscribing to my channel. Yes that particular kit was a challenge for me. I'm currently doing a NuNu Audi R8 GT3 kit. Good luck with yours and just take your time and enjoy it.

I watch these videos for help in building these kits. I notice that a great many of the builders have no idea how to really handle an airbrush. They jiggle it at the part or hold it too long in one place. Many things. I spraypainted many years ago. When you paint, you need to make smooth side-to-side motions that cover the entire area you want to paint. Always keep the airbrush moving in a straight line. Never use a swinging motion because you'll have too much paint in the middle and not enough on the ends.

I'm not sure if you are critical of my airbrushing technique . You have to remember these aren't actual cars, these are scale models and often you are painting only small areas. I paint my models like I paint pictures, small circular motions, or strokes. I understand if you are painting, a larger part, like the car body, or the hull of a ship model. Anyway its the end result that matters.

@@sierrahobbys1883 No, I'm not being critical; only telling about a different way. I understand the idea of painting small parts, but the side-to-side motion keeps the paint from running and gives a smooth coverage. You have to do it the way you want because you're doing the build. I just learned it the other way.

Hi, thanks for your comments. Those were reverse decals used on the tyres. You peel them off the backing paper then place them into position then wet and press them down and carefully peel of the transfer film.
      🍻 cheers.

Not many people on TH-cam that model cars use actually race cars to model. Rather just custom sports car

Hello! Enjoyed the video very well. I have completed mine as well, but have noticed the rear suspension was extremely high. Have you noticed this issue as well? If so, how did you fix it?
I appreciate the time and effort taken into this video, thank you.

I have one of these on the way, but it will sit on my shelf as I cannot track own the correct decals. Tabu Design makes them. The kit decals are not correct in some areas. The Studio27 Carbon decals are also out of stock everywhere. must be popular kit! EDIT: Oops decal problem already mentioned.

Thanks for your comments. It's best if you have a spray gun or you could use the Tamiya spray packs. Its just easier to fine spray with a gun though. The spray packs tend to gush out.
