I just replaced mine with a new chain and mine actually did have the washer .....but my sprocket just stripped out. Chain wasn't even that tight, I could still pull up on it a bit. So now I'm scared to see how much is gonna cost me to fix it.
if it's still under warranty it shouldn't cost you a penny other than shipping or bringing it to a service center. that said DeWalt is having more and more issues with quality control which really sucks because when the tools work they WORK but sadly it can be hit or miss sometimes.
