I thought I was tripping when he landed the powerbomb and Alisa's health skyrocketed back up lmao. Good transition!
That powerbomb transition was so clean i had to go back to figure out it was a different round.

I've been having trouble playing neutral which is keeping me at Warrior rank. I feel like I'm being too aggressive, but I play Steve and it seems like he should be. You play King, a character who looks to be not quite as oppressive in Neutral, yet are seeing far more success. What is it you look for? How do you go about assessing situations and playing Neutral?
This is a very interesting insight since the way Steve and King usually work is the complete opposite - Steve's amazing counter hit utility and evasion makes him an incredible defensive character who wants people to come to him, before he unleashes hell on them for simply pressing a button. King on the other hand is supposed to be EXTREMELY oppressive in the neutral so as to keep the opponent from ever moving, ducking, or pressing a button so he can set them up for throws.
If you are being as you said, "too aggressive" with Steve, then dial it back a bit. Try to break free from an aggressive flow chart because as soon as people figure you out, they will start to adapt. Incorporate his weaves into your neutral gameplan as well as his b1 and df2 for counter hits as I'm sure you know. Be smart in using his stances as well to either slip away from danger or spring in from afar. His wall pressure is insane still so when you have them at the wall, that's when you turn your aggression up.

I very much like hearing what others have to say about my character in general, but you being a King player-with King of course being VERY different from Steve- makes me feel like there's a lot to be gained from listening to you, since you have a different gameplan. It helped me realize that I'm trying to play Steve like King, and that I need to take a step back and reevaluate my tools and options.
Simply watching content like yours not only reinforces my love for the game but also the drive to reach the levels that people like you have. Your feedback has been invaluable and I will take it to the lab with me next time I play and cook up some DEVIOUS strategies. Thank you!
All the vids I've seen about tekken have been people playing him or glazing him. Is he that good? Or is he just a fan favorite?
Both. He's been in Tekken since the very start. A staple character of the series. Every fighting game ofc has their archetypes, and he is Tekken's grappler. Simply put, he is iconic to the franchise.
And yes. He happens to be very good in Tekken 8 on a technical level.
