- 2026 World Cup host cities and stadiums! We take a look at each city and stadium proposed for the 2026 North America world cup which is to be played across Canada, Mexico and the USA.
Of the three countries, three stadiums are to be used in Canada and Mexico, as well as ten in the USA. These ten stadiums are to be selected from a proposed 17.
The stadium name, capacity, occupier and the sports league which the occupier plays in are all provided.

You're right, it will be interesting to see how the players cope with such high altitudes
The heat could be a factor in the more southern ones as well,as it was for Mexico v Republic of Ireland game in Miami for example at the 1994 World Cup. Also,I'm not sure what it's like now but Mexico City used to have issues with air quality; apparently a lot of the fug was held in to sit over the city by surrounding mountains. Thanks for this video - it certainly is an intriguing mix of strikingly different stadium designs.
@@rjjcms1 Some of the Southern proposed sites are in stadiums with retractable roofs such as Atlanta, Dallas and Houston. Those in Florida are open.
@@steveguild871 I stayed in Florida once,at the tail end of the summer,and it was 90+ degree F heat and humidity very nearly every day,but there would always be this period in the late-ish afternoon when the skies would suddenly darken and the heavens would open with an almighty deluge - and then it would clear up as quickly and revert to 90+ degree heat and humidity again.

Unfortunately, as of now, Montreal withdrew from WC 2026 Canadian Cities bid.. Reasons cited: no funding from Quebec provincial government and cost overrun.. Very sad and shocking, Montreal with its beauty and outstanding fan culture would be a unique jewel of this WC..
My city, Vancouver BC, could host it instead, but Vancouver also decided against the bid.. So that leaves only Toronto and Edmonton for Canada.
That’s unfortunate. BMO field is really small too.
@@sumrandumguy7177 Yes..BMO field is a joke , compared to WC stadiums anywhere..Edmonton C/W Stadium is big but also nothing special..Vancouver BC Place is classy, we hosted Women's 2015 FIFA WC with success , but it has no natural grass turf, so would have to be redone. Montreal's Olympic Stadium is very old and needs complete renovation. So they did not consider it worth the cost for a couple of WC games only.

According to the bid and multiple reports, it was suggested that LA, Mexico City and Toronto would have the Opening Matches. Atlanta and Dallas will have the Semifinals while NY/NJ will host the Finals.

As far as I'm aware, Montreal has withdrawn their bid, meaning there remains only two Canadian cities to choose from.

- The host nation Canada 🇨🇦 vs. ??? in Group A at BMO Field in Toronto
- The host nation Mexico 🇲🇽 vs. ??? in Group E at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City
- The host nation USA 🇺🇸 vs. ??? in Group I at Rose Bowl in Pasadena (Los Angeles)
Final Match (July 5, 2026 including the host nation USA 🇺🇸 celebrating 250th birthday of Independence):
- ??? vs. ??? at MetLife Stadium in New York / New Jersey
I think it’s pretty clear the final will be held at Jerry World aka ATT&T Stadium.
Either that or Rose Bowl or Sofi Stadium if it’s even a consideration

@@thesportschecker .....that's exactly where I would like it to be played. But I fear America will dominate proceedings and insist it is in the US - either at the Met Life stadium in NY/NJ or at the FedEx stadium in Washington.
It should absolutely NOT be at the Pasadena Rose Bowl (venue for the 1994 WC final) as that stadium is very antiquated (hasn't changed since 1994) and is not built for football. It's an old Athletics stadium that is now primarily used for rock concerts.

I know they should do one of those for the final because of how big and new they are.
Sofi should be the pick in L.A because Rose Bowl it's too old at this point. And in the case of Allegiant, City of Las Vegas didn't want to participate. Something happened with Chicago, Minnesota and the stadium in Phoenix.

Missing Chicago soldier field
There are currently 17 stadiums in the US which are to be reduced to 16 which will host world cup games. However, Soldier Field is not one of the 17 stadiums. It's a shame because it is a great stadium.

A world cup in NFL stadiums just feels wrong. it will be a very underwhelming world cup
U.S. Hosted in 1994 (with NFL stadiums) and to this day it is considered one of the better world cups.
How many workers died in construction of those stadiums
Very few to none at all. All three of these countries have something called labor laws which provide actually protect the workers from unsafe conditions.

The only true footballing nation of these 3 is Mexico. It frustrating when a World Cup is going on about 2-5% of the USA general population knows it’s happening-literally. Those include the small groups of fans.

Qatar 2022 stadiums are 100% better
They will never be better and you know why? because at least thousands didnt die building the stadiums in Mex, Canada and USA. Besides, lots of great stadiums were left out from the three countries: Estadio Puebla, Toluca, Vancouver, Allegiant stadium, U.S Bank stadium, State Farm, Lucas Oil, Mercedez Benz Superdome, Soldier Field , Sofi stadium etc. Heck, lots of sexy stadiums in North America without the need of killing slaves.
