"The Pipeline" is and always has been important because after that the whole of Europe's Fuel and Heating costs went up 3 or 4 times as much for normal people. It is a major part of why the average person is struggling today. Simply keeping warm
Couldn’t agree more. Interesting how one panellist claimed it was Ukraine that blew up Nordstream when Biden is on camera declaring that the US would bring an end to it in the event of a Russian invasion. Also, there is the Seymour Hersch scoop which describes how it was carried out.
Except Germany stopped using the pipeline before it was blown due to Putin's invasion. If anything, heating costs went up because of the decision of German government to stop importing Russian gas (which, by the way, was a moral imperative under the circumstances). Besides, Ukrainians are mass murdered and their whole energy infrastructure is destroyed, so, by comparison, paying more for energy that you can have is not that much of an issue. Germany should not have built the pipelines to begin with, knowing that Putin had intentions to invade Ukraine (Angela Merkel recently admitted she was aware of Putin's intentions, and Poland, the Baltics, and Ukraine had protested against building Nord Stream, so, in a sense, Germany brought it on itself by empowering an imperialistic dictator and blatantly ignoring safety concerns of other European countries).
Germany is now closing up its industry, people will be unemployed, homeless - the new Weimar - because US stopped cheap gas from Russia. You see Europe was a peer competitor to US just like Russia and China - they are all on the chopping block of US hegemony

The selfishness seen in the US today could be their downfall. I am shocked by what I heard.
The downfall of the US will be getting spread out too far militarily, and going too far into debt leading to massive division and eventual split. Hopefully at least a peaceful split

Except that that was quite brief. Since 2023 the prices are back of natural gas are back at 2018 levels. Read the charts.
Thank you, Jake Broe, for being the sane and informed voice on the panel!
Never let America talk you into giving up your nuclear weapons because if you do you are F.

Ukraine never had nuclear weapons.
They had no start codes and those weapons in Ukrainian territory legally belonged to the Soviet Union.

@@heinzriemann3213 They also had no satellite reconnaissance and tracking, computerized targeting systems that went with those nukes - essentially just paperweights they just gave up...

So the word of the Americans has no value?
