I genuinely don't understand how sidyney Cooke has survived so long in Wakefield. He's 97 now and has been in for decades. His crimes against kids are some of the absolute worst.

Nicely described and explained. Its just a matter of time before he is attacked again - he may be safe for now, but it only takes a few minutes out in the yard, in the garden, in the shower, during canteen, in recreation, getting shipped out....

That’s what I heard about a year ago, so it could be far less now. I’m guessing they could bleed him dry of that in prison, during the time he is in there! If he never does get out well, he’ll never get his hands on any Royalties money anyway!

I'm 43 from Cardiff and followed the whole disgusting Ian Watkins story from the start of his band until the arrest. I was never a big fan but liked the first album at the time... Thanks for the video and the info. I'm not proud to say I got a strange vicarious sadistic kick when he got assaulted. Its fascinating to know how it works in prison and that even someone like him can buy protection. Money talks in every walk of life. I wonder if he would be paroled? 2031 isn't that long away...

When I was in a hostel once while I was on licence for a bank some lad was paying me to stop him getting robbed then the staff found out, kicked me out, so he went back to getting robbed every time he went out. They did nothing to stop him getting robbed though.

@@raybans8712 I had got myself in a bit of a situation and decided I needed to go to rehab but knew I wouldn't stick it so decided to rob a bank, have a party with the money, then go to prison where I couldn't change my mind once I'm there.

He doesn’t have millions, he has £650,000 in the bank- well that was a year ago, so it could be less now. He can’t gain any royalties money because he’s in prison, if he ever does get out, Yes he will get his hands on that money, but let’s face it. I don’t think there will be that much in the way of royalty money coming in now, every year, after what he did.

I remember when the Ian Watkins saga made the news originally. See, H from Steps is called Ian Watkins and once, a paper wrote about Ian Watkins and his offences but instead of putting a picture of Ian Watkins, they put a picture of Ian Watkins.
Now Ian Watkins wasn't happy about his photo being mistakenly used in relation to Ian Watkins and he demanded they replace it with Ian Watkins.
I hope that makes sense.

Unfortunately you can’t do that. The only way the state can cease assets here in England is through “the proceeds of crime act” (think that’s what it’s called) and that’s only monies generated through said crime you’ve been prosecuted for. So, his music money can’t be touched…

My dad said he always seemed a bit weird, even before anyone knew of his crimes. He did seem very narcissistic to me.
Bot going to lie i worked in child protection for my whole career till i fell ill and the sentencing report the judge issued at on his case was the most disgusting upsetting thing I have ever read!
That's strange, the news reported he was attacked because he was getting privileges like being able to give guitar lessons in classes and an inmate didn't like it

I'm not in favour of the death penalty at all but my arguments against it become pretty tough when considering people like Watkins. An absolute animal who won't be rehabilitated and will serve no use to the public again.
Best to keep him locked up. Death penalty is not a deterant as other countries have proved.
The way it works is . The ones who attacked him will be the ones he's paying for protection. And it will get more and more expensive monthly maybe even weekly deepening on how stupid and rich he is . Once he can't pay anymore or get them drugs of phones . It's game over and small loss . It's going on in every jail in the world

There is/was a newspaper inside that tells prisoners what's going on in different prisons. Ricky sees it online.
Can't remember what it's called, something like Prison Times
*It has all sorts of info, it's not just "Whos got battered this week" lol.

I did tine in Lincoln catb. We were kept seperated from C wing. The nonce wing VPU. So ive no experience of this prison but he must still wake up each day wondering when it will come. Protection only goes so far.
His former band mates no longer have their share of the fortune because the band ended the moment Watkins pleaded guilty.
