I am always very impressed by people that have a life and manage to workout more than 3 times a week. Being a father of two kids I only manage to do 2 fullbody workouts a week. That doesn’t stop me from making progress though, as I focus on big lifts and proper technique. I also am quite lucky as my body tends to put on muscle quite easily. What I tend to do on my off days is doing a bit of active recovery by taking hot baths and utilizing active stretching and mobility work.
Love the tour through your journals, Dan! You inspired me a couple years back to keep one of my own. I do all of mine in Excel… as a data guy, allows me to show rolling averages, create charts, structured columns, notes, etc. I’ve never been one to keep traditional journals, but I find my Excel workbooks really fun! (NOT better than a journal by any means… just a personal preference and an option for anyone with similar habits/preferences)
The sincerity (especially in regards to the last question) of this podcast is fantastic. Have a Merry Christmas Dan and thanks again for an awesome video!
Thanks so much for all your wisdom! How will the Armor Building Formula addendum be released? I purchased the book when it first came out and I’m wondering how I can access it. Just looking forward to reading through it as I take on a second round of the program with 20kgs! Last round was with the 16s
We use to hit sand in a bucket with open and closed hand, and do pushups on the knuckles to strengthen/toughen our hands and wrists, jamming your hand into the bucket and opening and then crushing the sand in your hands is also great Hitting hard objects with your hands, either open hand or closed, will eventually cause damage to your hands and wrists Light bag work with only wraps, will also toughen up hands, wrists and forearms doing a combination of open hand, closed hand, and forearm strikes, just don't bleed all over the bag when you lose the skin of your knuckles from glancing blows without wraps when throwing closed hand, "ask me how I know" I only do light bag work on a heavy bag once a week now (my Saturday session), but, it is a great session that I really look forward too, great for conditioning, coordination, and keeping your hand in self defence and actual fighting range Point of note: A open hand strike can be just as effective as a closed hand strike, and the benefit of open hand is you don't end up with the damage to your hands over the long term, and a broken hand or wrist from a poorly executed punch can finish your ability to continue from that point on Bas Rutten (????spelling????) was a big fan of open hand strikes, and he had great and devastating success with them
I've been doing ABC with 20 kg kettlebells. I can do 30 rounds emom. I'd like to move up to the 24 kg bells, but my pressing is the weak link. Should I progress to using uneven bells (20/24) first before using double 24s? Thanks
Well, the Big ONE: why did my mom have to go so young? And...why did the NCAA only now realize that JUCO eligibility doesn't count towards D1? And, why does doing squats always hurt more than anything else?
Hallo Dan! - Short question about your old to-do list : what does number 5 : make a difference refer to? - Is this more a "think different, walk an other route today, go to a different Cafe and meet other people" type of thing or does it just mean something like "use dumbells instead of kettlebells today and see how it works"..?
@DanJohnStrengthCoach ...Yes, I can see the value in that. That's actually why I decided for nursing school instead of becoming a bank employee😉😅. Thank you, Sir!💪
TRX? They have some good materials when you buy them. That's what I recommend...by the way, the BEST thing ever done was with the RKC (Pavel) and TRX but the politics, I guess, killed it.
I believe you made a mistake with the colours' explanation. It should have been "Green means go. So I know to go ahead and shut up about it. Orange means orange you glad you didn't bring it up." 😂 Thanks to you, i got myself a journal at the age of 32. Thanks for helping us do better in our lives.
Hi Dan, my daughter soon to be 11 ( looks and is the size of a 14yr old) has been playing ice hockey for 2 year's, she can now join the gym at the rink...they have said they can write her a programme to start with. I said, she needs someone to coach her as she is just starting out on the S&C journey. What would you recommend nitially for her... Easy Strength?

You and me both! Great points here...

Two humans...two experiences. I can't even type my name on Excel!
Your new book and The ABF Supplement was the best Christmas gift!
Well, thank you. Thank you so much!
My favorite advice you give from all podcasts. Stop watching stupid television
It's a simple solution for freeing up a lot of time.
Loved that last question Dan
The listeners do a great job sending them in.
The sincerity (especially in regards to the last question) of this podcast is fantastic. Have a Merry Christmas Dan and thanks again for an awesome video!

Game changer
I thought I responded to this. I’m not sure where my answers goes sometimes.
Where do you get the ABF supplement? I purchased the original book as soon as it was released.
I wonder if it is in your spam, but email us at the podcast here and we will take care of it. It's also on Reddit, DJU forum and the Strongfirst forum

It has been released. If you’re on my mailing list, you got it, but I also posted it several places around the Internet.
@@DanJohnStrengthCoach can you please link where? I haven't seen anything in my inbox yet.

Thank you for sharing all of this. This is really a resource.
Dan should use Obsidian... His vault would be a digital treasure.
My friend, Mike told me to get this...I'm still tinkering.

I just put this into the supplement. I don’t have the link with me, but if somebody could help us out and share it, I’d appreciate it.
Hi Dan, what questions do you have?
Well, the Big ONE: why did my mom have to go so young? And...why did the NCAA only now realize that JUCO eligibility doesn't count towards D1? And, why does doing squats always hurt more than anything else?
😊. Thank you for giving hope.
🕯Frohe Weihnachten🎄
I think, if squats hurt, it is a problem of full body mobility...
...and all around it.
Stay strong!

Well played

Coach, is there a book or channel you'd recommend for someone who just picked up a TRX suspension trainer?

Any general program that teaches all the basics is fine. Focus on good technique and a nice mix of movements. Keep it simple.
@DanJohnStrengthCoach Many thanks, all the best, Dan 🇬🇧
"...and you'll come home disgusted by your fellow humans." Lol
I do my best!
I bet you called it "weightlifting dairy" because you really wanted to milk those gains!
Well played!!
