But this was the first time he did growling. Specially for Floor. And this is the best version of the song since times. Here in The Netherlands we are blessed with some fantastic singers. Floor Jansen, Simone Simons, Charlotte Wessels, Glennis Grace (just has the same voice as Whitney Housten, people say she is the reincarnation of her), Anneke van Giersbergen, Zora Cock, Lisette van den Berg, go on and on and on.

During Lockdown Henk and Floor did a duet of Dangerous Game from the stage show Jekkyl and Hyde. You can find it on Floor's TH-cam channel. Brilliant bearing in mind they were hundreds of miles apart at the time. p.s., The reason Floor wasn't so well known in the Netherlands is because of what is played on Radio. In Finland Metal is regularly on the Radio. in the Netherlands virtually never. The metalheads always knew her.

Oh yes, Floor loves him ! She invited him for her solo tour and they were both amazing on stage ! Seeing them just 2 meters away performing "Phantom of the Opera" back in february 2020 was an unforgettable experience 🤩

My compatriot was off the radar for a long time. Became known about 30 years ago,wasn't a fan because i don't like musicals. He wasn't in a cave but it seems he was singing abroad in opera's and doing other projects. Participating in that program brought him back in the spotlights and how? His participations showed what an excellent singer he is. Could have been a rocksinger as well. It seems Floor Jansen wanted him on that programm and those two titans made the 2019 edition the best ever.

I'm lazy and I don't want to read the comments below me because I already know what everyone's going to say LOL but he was singing this song for her I believe this was one of floors songs that her father used to sing to her........ She more or less kind of idolized Henk when she was growing up and now they are touring together so it's just magical.
Henk sang this directly to Floor because it was her episode to be performed for....and Henk learned to do distortion specifically for this performance, and I think THAT blew Floor away. He said in the after discussions that, as an opera singer, distortion in the voice is always a big no-no, and if you did it they would say, "Next!" and pass on you.
There is this nice thing just before his performance (I have seen it in the version of the show with subtitles) when Floor said to him - „You're Henk Poort. You can sing anything.” We have this opinion about Floor and she thinks this about Henk. :)

This one is several notches better than the Disturbed version, in my opinion. Henk has performed with Floor at all her solo concerts. "Dangerous Game" is another great duet they do from the musical Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. I believe Henk is still scheduled to perform with Nightwish in November. I hope the concert is professionally filmed. Tuomas may have Henk sing a couple Nightwish songs as well for that specific concert. The prospects are exiting to think about. I can't remember who it was (I'm sure someone will post it here now) but someone posted on TH-cam this season of the show with English subtitles. It is well worth searching to find them if they are still up. I find this show amazing as I am sure it would never catch on here in the States as it isn't a competition. it is just a collections of singers from different genres taking turns paying tribute to each other. They highlight one person per episode and sing a song of theirs or a song that means something to them. To hear them speak about each other the way they do is pretty incredible.
Imagine the impact Floor had made on Henk, to get him to learn distortion and a metal version of a ballad - just to surprise her!!! He succeeded big time, and this version of the song - if you play it against the Disturbed version - Henk's voice are superb and at least equal to the Disturbed version - in my opinion.
I know everybody will request Vivo per lei with Emma Heesters (which is absolutely fantastic) but one of the highlights with Henk for me was his performance of Noelia for Rolf, so emotional and powerful at the same time. So if you find time and opportunity ....

This was Floor's episode, so Henk is singing this for her. They have worked together since on her solo shows and she on his. They also collaborated on another duet, from the musical version of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. The other singers are getting into this too, I don't get any sense of disinterest from them.
The show takes 7 singers from different genres and put them together. In every episode one will be placed central and others will sing a song for him/her that has a meaning, in this episode Floor was put central.. That can be fun but also emotional. In the show they do talk about what is so special and other life experiences. The 8th episode is the fun duet where each singer has to choose one of the others to sing a duet, Floor did in total 3 duets that season final episode. Because there are singers from different genres they have to step out their own musical comfort zone or change a song within their comfort zone, Henk did step out but showed he can do it all You can find the clips with the talking up to full episodes with english subs on the youtube channel of paul h.

I love this song. And although I never heard of this Henk Porte, he has a great voice. But to be honest, his interpretation of Simon and Garfunkel's master piece reminds me of David Draiman's version, which I like even better. Peter We love Disturbed’s version of it and we were floored (no pun intended) by it. They have now overplayed it so much I can’t listen to it. I felt like this version was a breath of fresh air. His voice is classically trained as you can tell but we really did love. I’m not sure that for us one is better than the other. In my opinions Henk can sing many parts of Marco by Nightwish, because Marco never come back to Nightwish, we all know.
I love this song. And although I never heard of this Henk Porte, he has a great voice.
But to be honest, his interpretation of Simon and Garfunkel's master piece reminds me of David Draiman's version, which I like even better.

First time in his live he use distortion, in opera and musicals, distortion is a big no no, you can even get fired for using distortion..

Henk Poort has a classical Trained Voice, but his range it is only ok. I now a sanger,he is classical and contemporary vocal training and has the master in both. His range is over 7 octaves. Look for tha song "Olympico" by Igor Krutoy and sing by Dimash!

We love Disturbed’s version of it and we were floored (no pun intended) by it.
They have now overplayed it so much I can’t listen to it.
I felt like this version was a breath of fresh air. His voice is classically trained as you can tell but we really did love. I’m not sure that for us one is better than the other. We loved them both and the original by Simon and Garfunkel
