      Depends on the tips you use. It absolutely is if you slap moondrop spring tips on them. Theyre a pretty tip sensitive set imo. Same goes for the ea5000LM

    I suspect that "monitoring" is supposed to refer to individual monitoring by a vocalist or (non-bass) instrumentalist, which could potentially benefit from cutting out bass distractions, rather than mixing/producing.

      Can you mention some of those more expensive IEM you like less than the Hexa?

    • @okay4105

      @@JunJunMusume I was very excited for kato but soon was disappointed cause it was very bassy, and soundstage was very cramped, I got headache trying to adjust to those coming from hexa, only thing i liked about kato is the midrange very natural timbre.
      S12 pro is actually a step above hexa in terms of technicalities and soundstage, but the stock tuning is too V shaped which spoils the midrange, the vocals have metallic timbre as well, but with EQ it's really good, techs are just insane for the price, but i have to EQ them.
      Hexa is actually a steal for $80 it has a very analytical neutral sound, I can focus on any frequency at a given time totally, without the other frequency overpowering. That's what I like about the hexa.

    • @rene837
      @rene837 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Hexa has too much treble and not enough subbass. Midrange is pretty good though.

    I ended up getting the Tanchjim 4U yesterday. I manage to get it on a sale, on top of a bunch o coupons and in the end it was 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐰 $𝟓𝟎 𝐝𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐬!
    I love the Hexa as well but recently I have been leaning towards something brighter and to this day I'm still impressed by the Tanchjim Zero, so clear and yet so cheap, so I decided to give these a go before considering the Origin (maybe in 11.11 sale).
    Great review as always!

    Hey guys I need some IEMs specifically for stage performance, I’m a singer. I was leaning for the legacy 2 but I know this was 2 years ago and maybe there’s better now. I hate sibilant/sharp/bright iems, I was looking for something a bit more on the neutral side;) WOULD u recommend the Legacy 2 still in 2024? Or perhaps the PULA PA05? I heard those have huge shells and the legacy seem to have that custom nicely sized fit. Pls give me ur thoughts… love the semi custom style & im trying to stay SUB $200.

    I've been kinda bored by Hexa for a while, but my opinion of it has slowly increased as I've realized just how unbalanced and unnatural a lot of well-reviewed budget IEMs are. It doesn't have a ton of excitement, but it replays basically all genres well. I've had to re-calibrate my own sense of "bright" vs "warm", because for a while the Hexa was on the brighter side of IEMs I owned. It definitely is the closest set I have to dead-neutral. I'd struggle hearing Hexa defined as "warm", but I guess compared to extreme V-shaped sets, it is.

    • @pliedtka
      @pliedtka 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I have Galileo, but normally I listen to EQed Sennheisers from HD 6** series. For me Galileo totally lacks Air, meaning anything above 10-12k is barely there. A bit of lower extension or boost (slow rise from 200Hz down) in lower frequencies wouldn't hurt either. Comfort is below average for me since the shell is rather large, I use Feaulle H570 tips.

    • @blorg8206
      @blorg8206 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@pliedtka if you find the Galileo large Hexa would likely be worse, they are about the same size but the fit on the Hexa for me is trickier, while the fit on the Galileo is excellent. It's not large for a hybrid at all, it's actually on the small side. Most hybrids are quite a bit bigger, so bear that in mind if you are looking at stuff in the future, you may want to really look for small single DDs like the Sennheiser IE series, Moondrop Lan/Chu, Tanchjim One, this sort of stuff. Agree the lack of air is the Achilles heel of the Galileo, but my own hearing is bad enough above 10-12kHz it doesn't really matter. It's tuned really well otherwise and I'd take it over the Hexa.

    • @blorg8206
      @blorg8206 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Pretty sure Mark would say the Hexa. They are tuned quite differently, and are also very different price points so not sure why these two specifically. PA02 is well tuned, for my preferences better than the Hexa, but a bit lacking in clarity due to the 6kHz dip, which is larger on my one than others. There are several IEMs I'd put above it, like the Truthear Nova is quite a bit better IMO for similar price. Chopin better again for more money.
