What with the new summer update in New Horizons I thought I'd celebrate with you guys and take you all on a spooky adventure to one of animal crossing's most infamous horror towns - Hitokui (Cannibal Town). I must warn you once again that if you absolutely cannot stomach the sight of blood then please do not watch this. You have been warned.

in east asian culture, it’s very common to see lots of fish in fancy restaurants, whether in tanks or larger containers! the smell isn’t too strong, but it also grows on you easily so you’ll be able to get used to it :))
I’m European and I thought it was a worldwide thing since its extremely common in my country too! still surprised some people are uncomfortable by it! never noticed any bad smells and it’s nice to watch them swim around (I just feel bad since I always thought the big ones would soon be cooked like crabs 💀).
it’s actually common here in america too lol or not surprising at least. i’ve seen many.
I’m a huge fan of hikokui village in new leaf, as soon as I learned their was a dream update in new horizons I definitely wanted to see someone tour their village in their.
Never played NL but have always been intrigued to visit a really scary horror town. And this one is apparently one of the scariest out there. Have you toured it yet? 😉

Savannah Palazzo I’ve toured the town in new leaf and it’s so awesome, you get to dress up as a bride or a police man and it’s always raining and dark and it has a lot of atmosphere and you can just feel the story, I love the new leaf town so much

@@cinthiacooper7493 some people aren’t religious or don’t have that in their religion. It was obvious to me as well (it’s part of my religion), but I’m not surprised it isn’t for some.
Idk if somebody said this yet, but the island got updated and in the right room of the church house, there's now a white wallpaper with "help"written in blood all over it and there are also crosses on the wall. There are two prison bars seperating it from the rest of the room. Behind the prison bars are candles, puppets and a bed. On the other side of the room there is a table with books and a pitcher. The walls are the same as in the original Hitokui Village from ACNL, as well as a lot of other things,like the paintings for example. If i find any other major changes i'll add them to this comment
Edit: yup got some more lol. In the japanase house, in the right room, one of the heads was replaced with a skull. There's also some bloody footprints and a well in the corner.
In duck lady's house, in the first room, a few dresses that match the heads have been added, standing next to the path, and to the left side from the door to the next room there's another treasure chest and a cannon

Rather that when she fled fhe garden, the Angels tracked her down and gave her an ultimatum: either obey Adam and fufil her role as the first woman, or suffer the consequences by being forced to suffer through the death of her children. The wolf statue is actually from the roman mythology about the founding of Rome
The two babies are the founders (Romulus and Remus, twins sons of Rhea and Mars) and they were abandoned and raised by this wolf mother

I don't know if someone already said this in the comments but the statue in the Kitsune house is the "Capitoline Wolf" or "Lupa Capitolina"(in Italian), and it is a legend to symbolize the creation of Rome.

That Kitsune's/Shrine Maidens house main room is full of ofuda, not pictures of people. Ofuda are basically slips of paper or tags that are said to repel evil spirits or something of that nature, if memory serves me correctly. I know this comment is a little late, but I just thought I'd clarify in case someone else hasn't already.

I liked in the ranch house there was a pink tapestry, like the bottom of the white one got all bloody! what a cute touch, lol. personally, I think the alligators were just how they were disposing of the parts of the people they didn't use
lol, and I think in the church the "red" room is just a confessional booth. and the bedroom would be where the pastor lives? I really like this town because it's all fleshed out parts of one murder town, it feels like an old horror movie that centers around a whole town being tied up in one horrific setting, like the amityville horror or something

Sorry but I feel the need to correct you on lilith, lillith is Adam's first wife in Jewish tradition. She refused to submit to him so she was kicked outta the garden of eden and eventually became a succubus. So she isn't just an occult figure but a religious figure as well. But awesome video I absolutely loved watching

For the big statues I think one of them is a Giant stag beetle and the other is an Atlas Moth. Flick just makes 'em big for those specific bugs.
Actually, Flick will make it big for any bug. As long as you own three, you can request a commision. I think C.J is similar, but idk.

I visited this island on my way to get surgical stitches out recently. I saved this video to my playlist of islands to visit but I had forgotten what the story was for it and was very surprised to find what I did. This is the first island I’ve seen that genuinely made me uneasy, even with the knowledge that nothing would happen to me

i really liked watching this, it was fun and it definitely didn’t feel like an hour had passed :) my own theory for the hospital is that there’s a doctor there that’s performing human experimentations on people to turn them into bugs and animals? which is why i think there was a dog house and also a pillow with a distorted/disfigured human face on it, like maybe that was supposed to be a person in the middle of the transformation process, or the remains of someone after they were turned into whatever. i think that makes the taxidermy and other fish you find in the restaurant really creepy. also getting really outlandish with this, but i have a theory that the doctor doing the experiments in the hospital was once human, but then turned themselves into an animal, that animal being raymond. i think that’s why raymond’s poster is in the hospital?? or maybe raymond was a patient and he’s pictured because he’s supposed to be an example of a successful experiment with turning someone into an animal. sorry for the long comment lol i just think this island was so interesting and well made, thanks for the video too!!

i think the fish with sharp teeth and the black rose symbolizes poisoning. first thing i noticed, is when you enter the room, the music sounded kinda off. and maybe, the villagers/cannibals there poison people to death in order to cook 'em up.
and the with the attic that had lots of fish tanks, for me it symbolizes the villagers who witness their friends/families get slaughtered and eaten while all they could do is watch.

Plot twist: Raymond and the player that made the house indeed own the hospital, but the people from the other houses are conducting experiments in the hospital without their permission. This is why 4 of the 6 rooms (including the main room) are hospital areas. While the upstairs and right room are experimental rooms, the left room, front room, main room, and basement are all hospital rooms. Of course, it's all just for fun, and the players just made these houses to make things seem creepy and tell a story!
I remember when I was in early elementary school, around 5 or 6 years old, my family and I went to this big and famous seafood restaurant. We were seated next to a huge sculpture (or taxidermy??) of a shark or swordfish hanging on the ceiling. I can't remember which. It was right behind me and I remember being too afraid to look behind me.

Late to the party but the interesting thing about the statue of the wolf and babies is that it represents the myth of the birth of the Roman empire. Romulus and Remus supposedly twins born and abandoned left to die only to be raised by a female wolf that lost her cubs. I do believe Romulus and Remus battled in a Cain and Able sort of fashion. Romulus won and therefore Rome was named after him. The statue is in Italy it's very cool. Also I recognised the confession box room straight away it was very well done given the materials available. I didn't realise that a multitude of religions were being covered until you mentioned it and then it made sense. And finally I think the room with the scarecrows were rightly what you said...effigies basically. I heard of small cannibalistic tribes where this is a thing and the effigies are used as a warning to outsiders.

This island has changed a bit in 2021 and 2022 (the rooms changed a bit, for example, the rooms at 39:08 and 42:47), like more blood, or things in different places, or different objects added in, but it's still just as scary! If not scarier!
I went to this island today and this is not what it looks like! They changed it and the only thing that stayed the same is the creepy house!
