    LATINOS UNIDOS LATINOS THE STRONGEST: Catch and Counter vs Catch and shoot. It all the depends on the circumstances and the adjustments that must be made at the present moment. Both techniques can be effective, however I Strongly believe slipping the punches of you're opponents execution and quickly (timing) capitalizing / countering off his mistake (missing his target) is much more effective because it takes the steam (the effectiveness) of his punches (not having a target too hit) at the same time your opponent is more vulnerable when he misses his shots, is then when you initiate you're executions timely with accurate precision. If I catched the punch it would be off my strategic defensive position (hands up at all times protecting head and body too avoid absorbing the effectiveness of the punch). Also lots of head and body movements from the waist to avoid straight punches, left right hooks and out side upper cuts. (Closed guard defensive shell on the inside too also block inside left right hooks too the body, head and upper cuts). Remember also of the timing lateral movements side too side and circular motion around the ring too control the timing and distance between you and you're opponent. The movement itself will pose a great problem for you're opponent because ever time you move and step in and out and continue timing lateral movements he is forced too reset (having the jab constantly in his face) and would frustrate him in trying too land his punches in the first place. Also as you initiate timing lateral movements you are consistently utilizing you're pumping jabs in a timely manner keeping him at bay, (Note: it is best too learn too be orthodox style of boxing too keep you're opponents off balance and work on being versatile practicing conventional & southpaw boxing skills and techniques both in the offense & defense maneuvers, is very effective) meanwhile you will be creating opportunity too execute you're arsenals in combinations setting up also counter strikes pumping jabs, jab hook jab, jab hook upper cut jab, jab too the body jab too the head, jab follow by straight right hand or straight left hand if your a south paw, double triple jabs than straight right too the body follow by the hooks, off a Superior Strategic Defensive Position. These skills and Tactical Strategies are done in constant repetition / perpetual in training at the gym every single day / daily.
    Thank you, for the insight and video. I respect very much what your doing for the community. Keep up the good work we appreciate it. God bless you, My Brother.

    Love all the content, my Cuban brother! Just one question: why aren’t you rotating the foot when throwing the hook off a counter? I am so used to lifting my front foot, ever so lightly, and turning it for a little extra hip torque. Are you advising against it in a counter move because it saves you time when countering?

    Hi I was wondering what the reasoning/value is to catch&counter? Because I always teach my pupils/clients that catch&shoot is better because it's logically because of the opponent is open at the side where he/she is punching. I try to be a smart ass because you are indeed the coach/Sensei OSU🙏

    • @Charlessalbox
      @Charlessalbox  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You are correct but when you improve your catching and countering you can Catch and Counter at the SAME time. Catch and Shoot can only follow one after the other.

      Sometimes an opponent may be have technical issues where they are punching with the other hand away from the face and are actually more open to a catch and counter with the other hand. Like if someone tends to drop their right hand when throwing left hooks.
