    These VRV/F units are standard over here in Europe. Sucks to work on them because they're so difficult to properly diagnose. good job on your hand!

      Same here in Australia, everywhere !
      They aren't too bad if you have the right tools, the service tools aren't cheap but if you're doing VRV's all the time its well worth it !

    Well done, these vrv’s are not easy to work on

    I work on these from time to time but mostly lg vrf. I would highly recommend getting the service tool for these. For troubleshooting and viewing purposes they sell a service tool that is connected via wifi to their app and you can control all indoor heads and monitor all live conditions. You would have seen a missing thermistor value or a thermistor value of max resistance value if you had the tool. It saves lots of time and frustration

    On those Binary systems, H2P and H3P stays solid, that means you have an error and must get the code from the Navigation Controller (thermostat). The Green light you're seeing are normal light communicating with the inverter board (inverter compressor) and the main PCB Board (A1P).
    I'd suggest downloading Daikin Tech Service App. Useful app, hopefully you have a Daikin service checker with the computer program, if not goodluck.

    Great video. Hate mini spilts but you made it look easy. I must say i cant wait to see you running all those thermistors. It gets tight in there.😒

    H3P indicates normal operation. A solid H2P indicates a fault with the system. Nice troubleshooting but fyi I would download the Daikin service app next time as it will be your go too for Daikin equipment and troubleshooting. We use this in the UK hope this helps.
    👍🏻

    Very knowledgeable, love watching your videos man, helps me trouble shoot units. I've always hated daikin because they're intimidating af and you always have to call tech support, but you broke it down so easily.

    You appear to be a very thorough service tech. I can afford to pay you $60 per hour here in California. LMK

    the green flashing is the heartbeat signal. it means the communication between the boards works and the processing on the board has not crashed.

    Love your videos man, as a green hvac tech I’m learning so much. I really wish I could have a experienced tech by my side to learn from.
    I work for a grow facility in Michigan and am the only HVAC tech on site. Work on RTUs chillers AHUs ect. A lot of commercial stuff.
    Learning day by day it’s def fun.

    Hello sir,
    Can we change 3ph-380v-60Hz compressor of 64LRA, by 3ph-380v-60Hz compressor of 87 LRA

    You need to have confidence in your diagnosis the thermistor was bad…. Not the shotgun method.
    I would check the thermistor itself, I’ve had the wires break all but one thread, or fall out…. Keep looking.

    How old is this unit approximately ?
    I mean for VRV/VRF after how long you expect troubles to start if running 24/7

    • @Modello40
      @Modello40 ปีที่แล้ว

      We used to change thermistor packs and valve heads every three years when doing hotels. Can’t remember definitely, but I think daikin recommend every 5k running hours

    • @weld3z
      @weld3z ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Modello40 Thanks so we can expect 5 to 7 years before replacing the hole unit.

    • @Modello40
      @Modello40 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@weld3z that’s ok. Thankfully not. I’ve been working on vrv systems from 2002/2003 that are still going strong. Boards are getting harder to find on the k and l series daikins, but thankfully things like the fan motor boards on 3’s are replaceable still. The new boards just need a new wring harness. I will say though, the newer R32 stuff is not as good as their older stuff. Especially the sky air model. The main board is from a vrv4 and the heatsink thermistor fails. You can’t change that one out as it’s built into the board. Daikin are aware and have released a document highlighting which batches were affected.

  • @eastlandgin
    @eastlandgin ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Looks pretty ridiculous that a they put all the thermistors on 1 wiring harness. 1 bad thermistor requires changing them all. Also, it's such an extremely difficult area for someone to work in. You have to climb over other units, no access to the sides and a several foot drop at the access panels. Installers are assholes. Should never been approved in that location.
