Dude!! That was me!! I kid you not I was at that booth and in the beginning of the video that's me shaking his hand. He played all this crazy stuff with so much ease and finesse. I couldn't contain my bursting :P
I saw rob at a clinic near my hometown and when he finished I had to run but I wanted to say hi. I stopped him on his way into the guitar store and told him how amazing his playing was and he responds with classic Marcello laid-back charisma "eh some notes were better than others". What an awesome guy.
He had some fans in the crowd! Great to see him chuckling along. Absolutely love Rob. No idea why he talks his instrumentals down; there are countless thousands of people who love them. Boss multieffects can result in quite a tinny sound, I find, and he always makes them sound wonderful. Great fluidity, and beautiful nuances. And to anyone who reads this, buy his Marcello-Vestry album!!
yeah man that was me at the Ethan Brosh/Yngwie show! I was Ethan's guitar tech on that whole tour, and now I'm doing some guitar in his band. I will be at NAMM again this year so there's a chance you can catch me at Rob Marcello's booth losing my shit again haha. For some reason it's not letting me respond directly to comments, but the humming you hear in the background is myself and a woman that was with Rob. She really wanted him to play Old School but he was tired of playing it XD so, I made a request for him to play it and he finally was like, *sigh* oh alright hahaha he played it like it was so easy he was just BSing and doing all this amazing stuff. We were so excited that we sang every note of the song as he was playing. It was so awesome. Like, I'm normally so alone in my love for that kind of music except for all the guitar shredders on the internet so it was freakin' cool that it was there for me to enjoy :)
not only is the talent great, but I love how he seems to love the fans.... He really seems genuinely happy and surprised that someone knows his music so well. Great stuff! I'm sure the gear is top notch, but that's not what got my attention.
lol i dont blame u bro! i met rob last year when danger danger headlined at firefest in Nottingham! he is my favorite guitarist ever and a huge inspiration to my playing. rock on dude!
LOL! I really dont blame the dude for going mental with happiness at Rob! I might be the same when i see him live in October! Rob Marcello is incredible!

It's a very racer-X-esque tune. Rob is one of those melodic shredder, like Michael Romeo.
