    • Lament of Isis and Nep...
The ancient Egyptian goddess Isis wept for her beloved husband Osiris, who was murdered and betrayed by his own brother.
Her tears brought about the annual flood and inundation of the Nile. This music depicts the calling of Isis by the temple priests sounding the primordial conch shell. Then a soloist playing a 16 string lyre, here performed on the north African nyatiti, makes an offering to Isis that assures the joy of all the people in anticipation of the arrival of Isis in the guise of the Nile Star. Following this a group of wooden flute players, who have gathered by the banks of the lower Nile delta, play antiphonal melodies thought to be favored by Isis herself. Finally, when the watching priests see arrival of Isis and the rain begins to fall, they once again sound the conch shells in homage to Isis.
"Tears of Isis" is the fourth of a set of nine pieces by composer Jeffrey Goodman. The CD is scheduled for release in the Fall of 2011.

thank you for your kind words. The research on instruments, scales and texts was a very extensive process, and completely fascinating. I am pleased that a sense of authenticity is conveyed and that you have enjoyed the music. It is also truly important for all of us to support independent musicians of all kinds via downloads of the artists' creations. So thanks for that as well.

I think so far of all the songs I've listened to in your album, this one is my favorite. The diverse range of instruments used, the soundscape nature of each segment... I'm loving this. I can also feel that Isis appreciates your extreme efforts to bring about authenticity and an unbridled, unfiltered sound from 2,000+ years ago. It comes across spectacularly.

The ancient Egyptian elite played ceremonial music and chants like this while in secret meditation in the pyramids to increase the size and amplitude of their pineal glands/third eye in the brain, making them smarter, more creative and more aware of other dimensions. The pyramids were designed to amplify the frequency of the sounds and chants they used. This was the most secret of knowledge and only passed down by the elite bloodlines, kept secret from the masses who were enslaved. any person can do the same with meditation and devout focus on opening and nourishing the third eye with cosmic and earthly energies.

Grey............where did you get your information about the Egyptian elite?....I've also heard that the pyramids were energy chambers, and also used to bring enlightenment and greater consciousness.

Extremely interesting; any updates on this site - in my healing work one day Isis came thru strong ..my head grew tighter as did my clients and then she described the headdress very similar to my oracle card image of Isis......as regards the pyramids what you say does not surprise me.....they used to vibrate in singing and do healing on others stood positionally their bodies where what weak organ they had would be git by the Egyptian healers vibrations vibrations

Set and Horus are the Holly King and Oak King of the Celtic people, and battle all the time over changing seasons.
Isis is the referee, as Winter becomes Summer, and Set is 'slain' and Heru rules for another half a year, until it is his turn to be defeated again. It's a Nature thing !
What a lovely and amazing video.

I adore the Goddess too. I've wrote a novel -"The faces of Venus"- in which is question of the influence over the protagonists of Venus, after a finding of an antique statue. It's of course a tribute to the Eternal Feminine and to my own Anima -after Jung's
psychology- As a man, I feel She as a Living Being within me, my Innermost Wife...
Where is that Holy Order located? May I have information about it? Thanks!!!!
