i skipped this movie because i heard so much bad about it....but, as always.....nicole KNOCKS ME OUT....so talented....on the most beautiful, talented actresses of this generation
Nicole's such a beautiful, talented, great singer and actress❤ I love everything about this song!😍💞 She's also great in Moulin Rouge!❤👍Thanks for posting!
@sskkiittzzoo : could not agree more...just saw the movie this weekend...I cry each time. What a fabulous movie! So sensual, poignant and personal...several thumbs up to Rob Marshall and the crew!
I love this song because the singing part is GUIDO'S version of things and when she is speaking, she is telling him she is not a muse or in love with him
this was one of my favourite parts of the movie, but i don't think her character was explored nearly enough. I think penelope's and marion's were, and guido of course, but the rest of the characters were underdeveloped because it's too complex to fit into one film. It should be longer.
I think just seeing that there was more to see was enough. Another person Guido used to satisfy his urge for fantasy at all costs that was not the one-dimensional muse he painted her as. She's a person. Just like the wife, just like the mistress. She fell in love with him like they all did, but all he wanted to do was use his longing for her perfect form to inspire him to write. When she takes her extensions out and says "this is me," shes taking herself off the pedestal. She's not perfect. She's a woman, just like the wife he takes for granted. She finally sees the situation for what it is, so she's moving on, but she wanted him to really see her before she left. God I love this movie.
yeah... her part was too little...this role was originally offered to catherine zeta jones.. but she turned it down because rob marshall refused to expand the role... so it was offered to nicole.. and nicole did a good job...
@TheKlervie I didn't know the director said so, but still I'm not convinced yet: Kidman's character, as CLEARLY stated in the movie, is German and not Swedish! Again, I find her much closer to Claudia Cardinale'e original character, whose name was, well... Claudia (like Claudia Jensenn, Kidman's character. See the line: 'he doesn't know how to love' a straight quotation of the main scene of la Cardinale in '8 and 1/2'.
Personally, I prefer it in this lower key. I think it adds a little smolder to the song, which brings in the character's personality. Side note: Marilyn Monroe would have been FABULOUS singing this piece in this key.
@TheKlervie She's not compared to Anita Eckberg... and why should she, just because they're both blond? Eckberg starred in Fellini's 'La Dolce Vita', while 'Nine' is ispired to Fellini's '8 and 1/2'. In that movie, Kidman's role was interpreted by Claudia Cardinale, who is a very icy and 'spiritual' beauty, just as Kidman is supposed to be here.
All these women (everyone but Fergie) acted just fine. Kate Hudson maybe didn't act so well but performed even better as for Nicole and Marion acted better than performed. Penelope was perfect she combined profound acting and entertaining performance... A deserved Oscar nomination!
Nine was very, VERY gutsy to have Nicole Kidman sing in this movie. Did they know it'd give everyone who heard it Moulin Rouge flashbacks? And conjuring the ghost of MOULIN ROUGE, one of the best movie musicals ever, is a very, very gutsy thing to do.
this song works way better in this scene in the story-- i mean... the song is better with this scene.... the two alone are not enough. I can tollerate frank griffith's on its own... but in some odd unusual way, i can't tollerate nicole's on its own. i like nicole...Loved her in Moulin Rouge xoxo ---- Frank Griffith's is, in my opinion, more intence and emotionaly dynamic. And to me a Male, when he sings it, it feels more to me like a personal monolague.
argh - it drives me NUTS when they don't sing the songs in the proper key.... she sounds like a man. It's supposed to be higher.... so disappointing....
my personal favorite part in the movie!!!
Nicole's tear in the end is heartbreaking
👍Fantastic lovely #NicoleKidman so beautiful voice etc.. ♥️
FAVORITE actress. And always will be. Happy birthday Nicole! :) Love you!
@ThoseDarnNargles Same! ❤❤❤❤
I love it.
i skipped this movie because i heard so much bad about it....but, as always.....nicole KNOCKS ME OUT....so talented....on the most beautiful, talented actresses of this generation
It's a good movie

Nicole's such a beautiful, talented, great singer and actress❤ I love everything about this song!😍💞 She's also great in Moulin Rouge!❤👍Thanks for posting!
i wish she could do more songs like come what may n one day i'll fly away, one day i'll fly away helped me through the worst stage of my life. Peace
Me too but she feels uncornfoble singing
she is soo graceful. a complete woman with vivid voice
She´s an angel!:)
@sskkiittzzoo : could not agree more...just saw the movie this weekend...I cry each time. What a fabulous movie! So sensual, poignant and personal...several thumbs up to Rob Marshall and the crew!
Nicole, Penelope and Marion are stunning-ly beautiful and elegant.
she's soooo good! =D

personally, i was kinda disappointed with this musical but nicole has took it up a notch for me!! and yeah i saw a tear too!!
Nice song. Beautiful Nicole.
Nicole Kidman has such an incredible range and she's beautiful.
I love this song because the singing part is GUIDO'S version of things and when she is speaking, she is telling him she is not a muse or in love with him
What a great voice!
I was so moved by her solo performance. Wished her role was bigger.
for someone who had just given birth 6 weeks b4 the film's shooting, she looks HOT.
most beautiful
should i say best film ever
Really missed Nicole singing since she did Moulin Rouge... thank you person that casted Nicole!! :D
she's gorgeous in this song!! love her voice!
Can you believe her voice was panned by a nasty critic for her performance in Moulin Rouge?? A crime. Let him try singing better. 😤
i can't help it. everytime i see this i'm like WTF SATINE IS BLONDE AND ALIVE ???
Hahahaha, exactly.
during the whole song i was thinking:God,i love her thick blonde hair it looks so good on her and when she took the wig off i was like: wtf nicole!!
I actually think it sounds better in the lower key. More contemplative, more soulful.

God I love this movie.

@Madelinemandias All the actors were amazing including Nicole. :)
It’s fine now 👍
Anita Ekberg, La Dolce Vita
GIVE PAIN MORI NICOLE!!!!!!!!
yeah... her part was too little...this role was originally offered to catherine zeta jones.. but she turned it down because rob marshall refused to expand the role... so it was offered to nicole.. and nicole did a good job...
Shame. I'd love to see Catherine Zeta-Jones in another musical. She was stunning in Chicago

SHE IS A MUSE!!!!
i don t love this movie but she is great
I can't see the tear :(
Thumbs up όσοι ήρθαν εδώ από το Κάτω Παρτάλι!
@aea9999 me too!
Very haughty performance. I wish we had more of her character in the musical! This is the movie that made me fall in love with Nicole. :)
I love this song, but I can hardly hear it here.
@bettyiszepic She says Whole
My goodness, she looks SMASHING in that cropped hairstyle
Gmadlobt Thanks HSBC..... Klass

Nicole Kidman was really good in this movie but Marion Cotillard was just an inch better...

I accidentally gave you a thumbs down and I can't fix it. So sorry.
I think Nicole was awesome in Moulin Rouge. But her singing this song was not so good. I've heard better singers suited for the song.
argh - it drives me NUTS when they don't sing the songs in the proper key.... she sounds like a man. It's supposed to be higher.... so disappointing....
