This is a great video, Cheryl! This is such a tricky move for aspiring Preliminary skaters! Thank you for posting it!

Yay!!!!!! Thanks so much for doing some focus on three turns! Much appreciated! I struggle with fully rotating on one side which makes my turn delayed, forced or incomplete. Would love tips on how to fix that (e.g. special tips if there is something a body position or special focus that will help with it.)

Oh, and also why do some people insist your feet must be together in the turn to be correct and yet I see others teach a free leg extended.through the turn? Love your vids, thansk!

@@deesterdee6650 the only way for me to answer this is to say that I’ll do whatever helps the skater execute the turn!! The freeleg can be in during and after the turn, in during then extend or extend the whole time….heck I don’t care if your free leg is on your nose if that’s what it takes to get your to turn!!! Lol

Sooooooo….loaded question but I will do my best to answer here and in an upcoming three turn video :). I would try several approaches based on what your needs are….I would check to see if all of your body weight is over your skating side, then if you can twist your upper body in isolation. If not, then you need to curve more to make the turn happen. I would work on holding an edge, with your upper body twisted into the circle….hold it until the circle gets smaller and smaller and physics takes over and your foot turns for you. I would also need to see the entry and exit positions in isolation which would help me better assess any issues. Please send me a video of your turns ! I would love to see them HaveanIcedayCF@icloud.com and I’ll send you a video back with suggestions

This was helpful, thank you. That change to the second three turn really is an S-turn. I struggle with putting my free leg down to make the next 3-turn.
