Nice work. I’ve always seen this done with a maximum of 5mm because of how much the rear fender drops. Also, it’s worth keeping in mind that the rear silencer will also experience a stress point where it slides into the expansion chamber and you may run into alignment issues with the silencer.
On my 09 XC, I did what you described at the end, fill welded the original hole and recut the hole and counter sink. I don't recall the shift in location but with out the fill weld the hole would have been a slot. The saddle bolt still lined up and the back of the saddle dropped about 3/4 of an inch. But the silencer brackets moved forward and down enough to stress the silencer's fitment to the pipe stinger. And the air box boot deformed a bit. I'm 5'7" will ride endurocrss events occasionally and I probably won't bother with trying this again, mostly because of the silencer fitment hassles after I ding the pipe a few times.
Any info on who made that graphics kit? My wife would love something like that and we have been looking for a while and haven't found anything with mountains in it.
I like the idea. I finally gave up and just bought a Beta Xtrainer. It’s significantly shorter then the KTMs, 35.8 inch seat. And the seat is thick so you can put a low seat on it and get another 2 inches. With a 28 inch inseam riding hard enduro is finally enjoyable. IMO it’s by far the best hard enduro bike for normal weekend warrior trail riders. Buy her a Xtrainer and low seat and become a hero
I actually want the lower seat height for me haha. her bike is lowered I just dont want to lower mine and loose clearance of the skid plate. I've tried the cross trainer and the power delivery feels really weird to me
@@TrailBoundco ah I see! The power delivery is very weird for sure. Very very smooth and low power. You can always put the rr pipe, open the air box, CDI and spark plug to make it feel like a 300rr. It’s what I did at least. Maybe you can try mine at some point in Utah.
Good Vid! I've been there too, a lot of miss alignment occurs, plastics, seat, pipe, airbox. The husky actually comes lower at the rear which I do prefer, as you mentioned great for pivots etc... Instead of opening up the subframe can of worms sanding/shaving the rear of the seat foam does reshape ok, also I ground off some of the plastic ribs on the base of the back end of the seat. To deal with the seat being miss aligned I used a heat gun, then hung/wedged the back of the seat letting its weight reshape the curve a little. Love tinkering :)

What about just cutting off the back of the rear fender and maybe shorten the seat?
Would that help a shorter rider?
Does a lowering linkage effect mi sag ?
