During a Nick Saban press conference on August 18, 2018, Saban said that people believe Alabama just shits out another player.
The thing I've always loved about him is how much he hates the media 😂

I'm questioning to what extent his success was because of things you traditionally think a coach does. (Gameplay, film study, schemes, culture, development, staff, and play calling)
Not that it's his fault but I think the cfp has made recruiting gaps worse.
@@4realjacob637 its certainly nicks fault....he put in the work/getting the right players to commit ect ect....people wanted a playoff because nobody wanted to see a LSU team play alabama for a natty......so they made the cfb playoff and ironically the same thing happend (bama vs georgia)
@@jaycie3558 well people just overrate most of the SEC. Alabantly has the strongest program last 15 yrs ish. But the rest of the SEC is pretty meh. Most are competent but it's not like they go sweeping in the bowls.

I'm an Oregon fan and I still use that phrase to this day.

@@jbetnar it was actually during the 2011 season, Alabama's greatest season, statistically, on defense. They allowed less than 90 yards a game rushing, but Georgia Southern had over 300 yards because they were a triple option team and Alabama just didn't put in the film work that week.
@@billy7448 yes. You face a gimmick offense like once a season and GS was actually pretty good for a second tier conference and they were one step ahead of the defense for like 3 quarters.

As a lifelong Alabama fan (41 years), I remember when Saban came in and a few fans were pissed because they hated his personality. I was ecstatic BECAUSE of his personality! His personality is a large part of what makes him the goat. Other coaches are afraid to act this way because of the negative press they'd get for it. Saban could give a f*** what they think!

No matter how great players perform in practice, a coach is always concerned of how they’ll apply those skills against their opponents. If the offense looks superb in practice, they’ll be concerned about the defense and vise versa
