You are so organized 😉. Plan B isn't so bad 😃. I'd leave it out all year because it's so beautiful. Add some mountain goats or deer and voila, great decoration. Haha. Confession: I still have trees and deer out. Just bring me so much Joy 😹. Have a great day 😊.
Thanks Margarete! It’s good to hear from you, How have you been? When I used to live alone, I used to keep my tree up until February every year. I love it!! That’s a great idea to add animals to it. My children would love that and they would love to play with them I’m sure!! God bless you and talk soon!
Hi Miriam. Looks like TH-cam is being a nit naughty as I didn't get a notification for your video. Luckily I saw it in the side listings of videos that might interest me. I must say that is some closet you have in your guest bedroom. I do have one walk-in closet in my house. It was part of my main bedroom, but a few years ago I switched a few rooms around and that main bedroom is now my craft room, which in turn includes the walk-in closet. I added shelves on two walls and it is quite full. This closet also houses my large comic book collection. I suppose I could store a mountain display on them. Good information about the realistic water. I didn't know it could shift or things would become stuck to it. I had to laugh when you realized your large display wouldn't fit through your upstairs doorway. Now that's definitely something I would do. Would have thought all the doorways were the same size. At least your children can benefit from your mistake. lol Can't wait to see your zoo display. How thoughtful of one of your subscribers to send you something special to add to it. FYI, winter storm Orlena is heading our way. A mixture of rain/snow/sleet starting on Sunday with a current prediction of 3 - 5 inches of snow. The "fun weather event" will carry over into Monday as well. Mom said to be sure to let you know considering how much you dislike "cold" weather. HA!. Will definitely be thinking of you as Orlena passes through. Peace and Blessings to you and yours.
Hey Lloyd, It’s so nice you added extra storage to your closet. My hubby is supposed to add shelves to my guest bedroom closet that drop from the middle of the ceiling I want to take advantage of the vertical height. Yes, the closet is pretty spacious. I think it is about 5’x8’. I didn’t even show the other end of the closet. That is housing my new business plan I’m trying to get started. I was so bummed about my closet. That closet doorway is 3 inches smaller than all of my downstairs doors. I never even though to measure that one because I assumed they were all the same. 😩. I hope you and Mom stay safe during the storm. We had really bad weather last week. I went outside during the rain to cover my garden. I was only outside about 15 minutes and by the time I came back in, my hands were red and they hurt so bad. It was terrible!!! We got hail that day and it snowed (just barely, not enough to stick) about 20 min away from me. Take care and God bless. Tell Mom I said hello.
Hello Bill, good to hear from you again. I was thinking. I wanted to run a train tunnel through my zoo. But then I decided against it. 😩. You should do it so then I can at least admire yours. 😀
I know right! I’m so bummed but I just can’t think of another solution at the moment. This is my super busy season with work so maybe once things calm down, I will have more time to focus on coming up with a different solution. I will keep you posted
Wow, what awesome work and so needed. I’m in Real estate. Our market is out of control right now. I am trying to secure lodging for 3 baseball players for spring training on top of my other clients.
Another fab video you have even great ideas to store what have you not thought of can't wait to see your next video I received all my wood today to start planning my village have you any tips to what way I should stage this as I plan to do it in stages Chat soon thanks again for your inspiration
Thank you so much! I would defiantly say plan out your village layout first before you start building. That way, you can safely build in stages by following your plan. Some table layout ideas are L-shape, U-shape, or square. I look forward to seeing what you come up with. Let me know if there is anything else I can help with! 😀
Great video Miriam, I was wondering how you stored those custom made styrofoam pieces especially that Mountain. Your advice is priceless information. Looking forward to your zoo design. 😀
Aw, thank you! 😄. I would love to see your village. You can email me pics at miriamsmanner@gmail.com or you can follow me on Instagram and send pics. My Instagram name is miriamsmanner as well.
Hi Miriam, I love watching your videos. I am new to the Christmas Village family doing my first one in 2020. I want to make some platforms or mountains, but am struggling with ideas on how to set it all out. Last year I just winged it as I put it together but I want to be more organised this year and make some special things to go with it. Do you have any hints or tips for coming up with designs or set out of your villages?
Hello Amanda, thank you very much! Yes, I actually received some other request for similar videos. I will be doing a video strictly on different layout designs that hopefully will offer inspiration. Also, if you want to send me pics of your 2020 village and the space you are working with, I can help you out with a layout. You can email me at miriamsmanner@gmail.com.
Hey Miriam! Thanks for these storage ideas. A question for you...I just cleaned out my (somewhat insulated) Minnesota workshop (connected to my attached garage) and want to use this space to store my ever growing village collection. I store my bases (all thanks to your tutorials!) in an indoor space...but I'm wondering if you think houses and people etc can be stored in the workshop during hot/humid summer months and some colder months. Not Nov/Dec/Jan as they will be on display, but do you think it'd be okay for the rest of the year? Thanks in advance for your guidance!
Hello, I do think the buildings and figurines would be fine in the garage. I wouldn’t store anything mechanical that moves but everything else should be fine. I have stored old buildings I don’t use anymore in my garage and they are just fine. A bit more dusty but that’s all.
I’m currently building several platforms and am wondering where the heck I’m going to store them. Yikes! I should have thought about that before starting this process
I’m going to do some videos in the future on how to build a platform that is larger but spilt into 2 pieces for easy storage. I notice it is an issue that we all run into. Once I design it and finish my zoo, I will get started in that.

I love your videos! You are one of the most organized people I have ever seen! Kudos to you! Can’t wait for the zoo video!
😂😂. Thank you so much, I try to be! Sometimes things get away from me when I am super busy but I always get it back in order!! 😄
Great tip on the size ! I would have never consider it. I also always wanted to do a zoo with a train .

Too bad that piece didn’t fit. I like your attitude about this setback. I find your videos so pleasant and thank you for sharing your tips! .
Hello Nia,
Thanks so much! I’m glad you enjoy the videos and you are very welcome. I am grateful that I am able to share what I have learned. 😀
Good storage tips.
Thank you Roland!! 😃
