This may be the best youtube presentation I have seen. Thank you for this review. What a beautiful island with tremendous potential. Its now on my agenda.
Thank you for this informative video on mostly the North Eleuthera District. Having been to Eleuthera, and only visiting north to get to/from the airport and an afternoon trip to the sites, our experience was different than yours. Current Bay Beach at 15:14 may be one of your favs, but it pails in comparison to almost all of the beaches south of the Glass Window Bridge. You did make it to the Navy Base Beach, which is another beautiful beach as is Double Bay, Twin Coves, Ten Bay, and many others. I hope your next visit includes James Cistern, Governors Harbour, French Leave Beach, Palmetto Point, Double Bay, Windemere, and Lighthouse Point. Garbage is an issue (either from the ocean, locals, or visitors) that needs to be remedied. That said, the charm of Eleuthera is the lack of tourism and absolutely beautiful beaches. We have been to many Caribbean islands, and found Eleuthera to be one of the top vacation spots away from commercialism and tourism.

@Classyflowers Miss, well, unfortunately for you, you got the right one. I have multiple in-laws and family on the police force, my spouse is a high ranking police officer, and my father's family is from savanna Sound and Palmetto Point. They all say you are talking horse nanny with crime in eleuthera. Police don't like to be stationed there because nothing happens outside of the occasional domestic dispute between spouses. Which is in line with the upper middle class area I lived and grew up in in Central Florida, aka heathrow and Lake mary. The statistics do not support you either. The crime was over blown. Like I said. I know firsthand people sleep with their doors unlocked on that island. Crime is little to no issue. Plus, everybody literally knows everybody.
@zidane0196 Fortunately for me, I have you. Can I ask your husband or any of your relatives in the police force to address the ongoing issue of theft and car break-ins at Ten Bay Beach? They can read about it here: shorturl.at/vCOP7 and here: shorturl.at/lyLU5 When they are done with Ten Bay Beach, they can focus on the following: Gene's Bay dock car vandalism: shorturl.at/fwBPQ Crime in and around Governor’s Harbour: shorturl.at/jtPV4 shorturl.at/gKMPT Harbour Island crime: rb.gy/kw29ml rb.gy/yj2z7x
Ive had similar experiences in the out islands. The trash is honestly really depressing. The tax revenues charged on everything should really go to setting up proper reffuse and recycling facilities..
Sorry you were so let down with Eleuthera. All the negativity felt you were on a mission to disregard the island. The positive thing is that tourists like you will stay out of one of the most beautiful places on earth. You had no business in Sweeting Pond especially if you were wearing sunscreen which can be damaging to the waters pH balance that can harm seahorses and other life in the pond. Way to go.
I never said that we were let down by Eleuthera. We never wear sunscreen. Instead of pretending the problem does not exist, address it and get it fixed. " Don't blame the mirror if your face is faulty." Nikolai Gogol
@Classyflowers The video was informative. The trash issue was highlighted to the point where you gave the impression that the whole island has trash on beaches and in the water and crime ridden. People still leave their doors unlocked on eleuthera. I would not be surprised if other bahamians and residents would be offended. Most of the island and beaches are clean or not to the point where it needs to be highlighted. If that were not the case it would have been in the reviews. I must say though even with you highlighting these things the island still looks inviting although you probably turned off certain types of people from the island.
@@zidane0196 By 'highlighting these things,' are you suggesting that I was supposed to turn off my camera or edit out elements to please those who make a living by renting their properties to tourists?
Way better then the usa 🇺🇲... I have been back and forward to Bahamas Eleuthera and never heard of somebody stealing items out of your car🥴... You have to be from Kentucky or Alabama😂😂😂
This is very unfortunate and I’ve seen natives go back and forth with you however the proof is in the videos… while America is not a walk in the park , the Bahamas advertises on SUN , SAND and SEA and we need to do better it’s just that simple
I feel as though if you had a positive attitude, you could see the beauty. A lot of garbage washes up from the water. To which pollution in that regard is a problem from bigger countries mostly. Anyway, instead of bad mouthing a country that is up and coming, pick up the trash if you see it. Leave wildlife alone and get correct information on why things are the way they are. Hurricanes do enough damage, they don't need this.
It’s funny that she didn’t catch much, and then declared the ocean dead and ascribed her own reason to it because she saw a lot of conch shells. Then the clip went to fisherman cleaning a table full of snapper. There are other channels on TH-cam dedicated to showing how great the fishing is on Eleuthera.
@@Classyflowers The Bahamas have some of the best fishing anywhere in the world. As to your cheesy conch rap video, as long as regulations are followed (only harvest conch with a well developed flare on the shell) then the population should be fine. They’re not going extinct any time soon. 😂

I spent two winters on Long Island, BS. This looks very similar. I am not a water person, and I'm much too squeamish for the creepy crawlies and garbage strewn beaches. I went there at the urging of a friend who owned property there. I do not wish to return. I will take Alberta winters or go to Maui instead.
You obviousky didnt explore that island as most of the beaches i went to in long island did not have trash. You seem to have a negative view going in anyway. Very nice, beautiful and peacful island, better than anywhere in alberta, something is wrong with you, lol😅
@carolesemkowich7200 OK, Maui and hawaii are nice but as a beach person I much prefer the Bahamas. The beaches in hawaii are 8/10 bit the Bahamas, Turks and Caicos are 11/10.
@@zidane0196 The only really nice beach was at Cape Santa Maria, where one has to either sneak onto or be invited by someone wealthy enough to stay there. There are some fancy homes at Stella Maris, but I did not like the beach there. But I am admittedly not a beach person. I am a city person who likes to be warm in the middle of winter.
Ok Eeyore, I would rather watch paint dry than go on vacation with you....I've been to eleuthera MANY times and your review could not be further from the truth...Try spending real time there with real locals, and maybe you'll change your tune....Although I dont think they would enjoy your miserable attitude and bleak outlook on life. We did not have enough time to explore the whole island. Theft is an issue at Ten Bay Beach, and I hope it does not spread to other beaches.
Any statistics on that? Bahamas out islands are not known for crime local or otherwise.@@Classyflowers

It's near Spanish Well facing the Atlantic where as Ten Bay in south of South Palmetto facing the Caribbean.
