This song was a big hit in the 70’s by “Harry Nielsen and then a while later Mariah Carey did a good version but I didn’t know John had performed it until I found this, shame he didn’t record it. John really did make this his own, and like in all John’s performances he puts so much emotion and passion into it, especially the slower, sad songs and emotional ballads. John quite young here(before the Mariah Carey version) did justice to this beautiful and powerful song that really suited John’s vocal range and the way he projects the lyrics and you can’t help to feel the emotion he is portraying. Hey Heidi, I hope you watching and enjoying this, and I hope you’re doing ok and work and everything is going to plan and you’re looking after yourself. Thanks for this one VK, I love these older ones, although mostly covers it showed how talented he was even way back then. He done justice to the songs he sang and even did some even better than the originals. To see where he came from as a shy looking very young man entering the big bad music industry and grew at every interval to be I think the greatest and most versatile male vocalist of all time, a great performer and a wonderful human being and humanitarian.

In all honesty the last couple of weeks have been very difficult, with a lot of tears and a moment where I'd had enough and didn't want to be here anymore. And that's because I have a secondary medical issue which I'm also dealing with that relates to the chronic condition I already have. For now I'm trying to process it all.
So you can imagine that I was only able to manage four days work in the last two weeks. Although so far this week I have worked two days and hope to work at least another day this week. So that's been really positive and it makes me happy for the time being.
If you see me disappear for a few days it's because I'm struggling with my condition, it makes me emotional and very down, and I think too negative to be on the channel that is positive. That's why I just go offline and take a break to hopefully reset myself as best I can. I know only too well that you understand where I'm coming from Dean.
I really hope you're doing a little better Dean and still hanging in there. Despite my own medical issues I always think about how you're going and whether you are managing ok, for you very much deserve a lucky break and to be able to live a pain free life. That's what I pray for you Dean. Please have a good night, take care with love and blessings. 🙏❤

I know how you feel all too well about not wanting to go on, but I know you will because you’re strong and this world needs you in it. Very sorry to hear things not been going well and about the secondary condition, I know that feeling also as lately there and more and more things packing it in with my body and I think of all the years I’ve been enduring all this pain, ATM I think it’s hit its highest point and really bringing me down, but whenever I see and listen to John, idk some how the pain eases a fraction. All the best to you Heidi and hope things improve for you as you deserve that.❤️

Great reaction VK. Thank you so much. Every Farnsey song, from Sadie until his last recording and performance, makes me feel so many emotions. He makes his audience feel the lyrics with the way he delivers the song, and the fact that he deeply feels all the lyrics to his songs, too. At any and every age, he has been amazing. Australia is so blessed with having John for the last 50+ years, and it's wonderful to see that the rest of the world is really waking up to what a phenomenal artist he is.

@@AussieDebb Oh, I agree. I would love to hear him sing again, but if not, I really would love for him to talk to us again, even if only for a couple of minutes. I'm eagerly waiting his book 'The Voice Inside' to come out. I have it on pre-order. If I can't hear his voice, at least I can read something written in his voice.

I'm sure everyone knows by now how much I love a good power ballad, and this one didn't disappoint. I will say I've only ever heard the Mariah Carey and recently the Erik Grönwall version, who is a metal singer. Now I've had the pleasure of listening to John's version of this cover and it's beautiful!!!
When you see these videos of John in the late '70's (so cute in his brown outfit was definitely the giveaway 😂), he just has this old soul about him and performs with such poise and maturity. John has a natural ability when it comes to connecting with lyrics and his facial expressions at times, especially his eyes always say so much.
And the emotion in his angelic voice has so much control when he soars and hits those high notes. There never appears to be any visible strain in his neck, for his technique right down to the shape he makes with his mouth when he sings certain notes is so perfect. John is simply a captivating and spirited soul who effortlessly draws you in with every performance. He just makes your heart sing! 🥰

@@heidi09 glad you liked it Heidi and everything you said is spot on. Most singers when they belt out the big ones you can see the veins in their neck stick out and even hear their voice shutter or break or something else but with John there’s none of that, it’s just flawless. You should check out Harry Nielsen’s version, it was the first time I heard it back in the 70’s and was a big hit for hit and then came Mariah and the others. John’s version must have been based off Harry’s version I think. All the best to you Heidi and keep your chin up.
