  • Come along with me and Pops as we travel to Brockholes Wildlife Trust nature reserve near Preston. The reserve is famous for Kevin the Kestrel and I think we just might of met him!
Join us on this adventure and come along for the journey to see what we see.

Wonderful! You have inspired me to start my own habitat for a blind. I think that I am going to plant mullein and millet for them to come in, but I have went ahead and put up a feeder with bird seed and I am going to get a feeder with millet. I will be using mealworms in the Spring for the fledglings. I hope to get some cool images from the window on my greenhouse. Thanks so much!

That sounds like some fantastic plans and I’m sure you will get some incredible results once the birds settle in to regular feeding.
      All the best mate 👍🏻

@@danwillis_photography I guess you get tired of my replies on every video. I hope that you see it as positive. I don't mean to be a pest or anything. I genuinely do like the content and I hope to gain some tips on growing my channel as well!.

I’ve driven past this place what must be hundreds of times going to Liverpool, Manchester, Blackburn and beyond from Lancaster and have never visited but after watching your video I will be making a concerted effort. You and your Dad were spot on about the frustration of trying to get decent shots at Nature Reserves but as you say, it’s all about the wildlife. It’s one of the reasons why I’ll be sticking with my crop sensor D500 for some time because even with a 500mm lens on it, it’s still not close enough. I’ve also got the 500mm PF and love it’s versatility. I can carry it on my Peak Design strap all day without any issues and as you say Dan, you can get into position quickly. I think I mentioned it in the comments on another of your videos that I only use the 500mm PF on a tripod now when under a bag hide photographing Owls. Great video guys.

Thanks Gary, yeah my dad loves his pf lens and I love my 500 f4 we debate their pros and cons all day long. Brockholes is definitely worth a visit and my upcoming video of Yarrow Valley is also worth a visit and not to far from Brockholes.
Thanks again for the support Gary it’s appreciated 👍🏻

Nice video Dan, been following you a few weeks now, straight after your Red Squirrel video, BTW my wife and I visited Paul and his RS hides last Friday, amazing day. Brockholes is only half an hour from me, we are there regularly, where you was standing next to the LookOut In Focus store/hide and over to the right in Boilton Woods, where you was videoing woodland birds is a Barn Owl box, there is a pair in at the moment, you can see them covering that field early morning or late afternoon/early evening, the male is out most days, just FYI

Thanks for the follow Chris I really do appreciate it. As for the Red Squirrel hide I’m so glad you had a great experience and I hope my video provided you with some points which were useful.
Thanks very much for the insider information on the Barn Owls I will definitely return to see if I can’t get some success with them, once again appreciated 👍🏻

@@danwillis_photography No problem Dan, yes your RS hide video was very helpful for us, Paul also mentioned that you had made a good video of your day there too, said he was away when you visited apparently?

My local reserve, love it there. The songbirds in the wood are amazing to photograph along with the Roe Deer. Kingfishers, when the river is low in summer, are easier to photograph and a good few Little Egrets as well. Glad you enjoyed the reserve. Keep up the great videos.
