It's insane, isn't it? Kinda makes you realize how precious life is and to live it to the fullest, not sweat the small stuff.
Leaving behind a family, a newborn, it's easy to forget Kobe was human, too.
Watching this again, it's so damn eye opening. His knowledge of the game shows why he was the GOAT

@@rheem5794 I've heard the same sentiment from a lot of folks, those who knew Kobe and his family and just fans.
I believe that Kobe would be mesmerized by his impact. You know the man thought about his legacy if he were gone more than once I'm sure.
But I doubt he or anyone could imagine just how incredible of an impact he left.
      Wish you the best!

You know when I heard the news, I cried and said the Lord's prayer. Gave me comfort in that moment. I'm glad this documentary was made. Year's ago, I had a newspaper clipping of Kobe after scoring 61 in the garden at my work desk. I thought, "this is Kobe doin work". I never realized how much I loved him being alive. RIP to those that died 26Jan2020.

  •  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

It's always stunning know more about Kobe's mentality. I admire him so much, and if I become succesfull in my plans its because of him. My love for the competition is because of him. My obsesion is because of him. Maybe the food that my sons are going to eat, will be because of him. I don't have words to explain how much I've grow as a man since I meet Kobe. I'm really sad because he's not here, and I will meet him only on the other side... But him, and MJ are my greatest inspirations for live the way I do.
I love u Kobe. Thank you for making me a man, and a good husband, a good father and a good e-sports player on the future. I promise for both of us, that every single second, blood and sweat drop are going to get paid.

Even though I think Kobe pushed himself too far and caused some of his injuries that occurred when he was older, I do miss seeing that mentality in the NBA. I'd rather watch someone push themselves to make two free throws even after rupturing their achilles than miss out a game because of "load management".

    Long post:
I had a great ball career from 12-20 yrs old, then fell off until last year. 13 years away from the game. Joined church league basketball and had 2 very solid games. Then last weekend, I went 1-6, with two airballs. I couldn't remember where to be and how to move on the court. I watched the first quarter of this on the treadmill at my gym this morning. Very helpful. I love learning from this guy and the commentary is an added bonus. Going to focus on pickup ball for a while, and forcing myself to positions I need to be, not just ending up somewhere on the floor. If turnovers happen, at least they will happen during useful improvements to my game.
    Have a great year, everyone

Watching the Lakers offense now is like watching chaos at the highest degree. Lebron dribbling the ball at the top of the key while everyone else stands around watching. It was such a treat to watch the triangle offense as it was being executed. There was constant movement, screens, players flashing, and guys cutting to the hole. You just don't see this kind of sophistication within the Lakers offense now.

I used to hate Kobe growing up, but it all changed after I watched this documentary by Spike Lee. My perspective on Kobe was totally different after watching this. He was a genius and a coach on the court. He was so technically sound. Paid attention to every detail. Even when I watched his “ Signature Moves “. Kobe was always 3-4 steps ahead of whoever was guarding him. To me, Kobe was the “ Most Skilled “ Player in NBA history. Even more skilled than Jordan IMO

100 percent. people dont view him like this but the fact that he stuck with the Lakers in some low low years without getting hurt or leaving or forcing some sort of scenario. Kobe didnt say shit usually against the Lakers even if he had Smush Luke Walton and donuts. Kobe can carry a shit team and make it look professional. You cant even buy that type of player branding. he'll drop 80 and kill a franchise in one game.....wtf

This was so pure and that’s the genius behind this Spike Lee joint. Imagine if Kobe drops 50-60 points doing this. This becomes a classic. The fact that Spike picks a random game in the middle of the season, Kobe was Capable of dropping that any night. Kobe doing work.

@@moisesrosado2057 I feel ya, just watched his final game, it's amazing the Lakers weren't making the playoffs and Kobe had been bothered still by that Achilles.
His teammates, he said, actually told him instead of "Pass the ball" to "Don't pass the ball".
3:30 mins left, Lakers down 10 and Kobe brings em all the way back. Now the officiating was loose and understandable but it wouldn't have mattered because you could see Kobe not only willing them from ten down on his own. And his competive 🔥 still burned so hard because he wanted the win.
He was so fatigued he was, on defense, James Harden. But if Harden was also blind and deaf and I say that sarcastically because Kobe saved everything because he knew he was gonna be getting the ball on offense.
I wanna suggest, if you haven't watched it, "Kobe Doin Work". It's on TH-cam, award winning documentary he did w Spike Lee.
Those unfamiliar, immediately after a Spurs game, Kobe goes immediately and breaks down the game from his fresh viewpoint. And I mean you can start to actually get in his process on the court, it is absolutely incredible. Even if you're not a huge basketball fan, Kobe is charismatic and keeps you engaged.
Prayers up for the 9 souls and their families...a lot of families didn't have loved ones come home and have their kids tell em about the game. A husband has to now raise three young children whose mom isn't returning. I just couldn't comprehend that and that breaks my heart because young children will have a lifetime of grief.
For a guy who played 20 years, spoke 9 languages, and became a 2$ billion dollar brand and entrepreneur, I don't wanna sound callous because 41 is young. But he truly embraced "Live everyday to the fullest, like it's your last."
He can definitely say at the gates of heaven that he lived everyday to the fullest.
This has shook me more than Michael Jackson, 2pac and I can't compare 9/11 but their both at the top.

@@moisesrosado2057 If you have ESPN, they aired it earlier and I would expect it to show again on ESPN or ESPN 2. The final game, really the last 3:30 minutes of the 4th is the must see. Kobe did have 61 but it took a lot of shots and misses.
My best suggestion is right here on TH-cam, "Kobe Doin' Work", the full version is right near the top. I believe it's 84 minutes so you can watch on your own pace.
And my next best suggestion would be on TH-cam again to search Kobe Bryant final game and you can find the last 3:30 minutes and also some videos are every shot Kobe took (I believe it's over 50 field goal attempts).
