Kobe averaged 28 ppg in that series. He had 1 bad scoring game that was game 7, but he grabbed 15 rebounds like a center would do. Kobe also hit huge jumpers down the stretch of that game to put LA up for good. Kobe could do everything on the court!

Amen... Kobe shot poorly that game 7, but so did PP, Rondo, and Ray Allen. Its was a VERY intense game 7, both teams wanting and willing to do anything to win that game. Unlike LeFlop, Kobe turned up the heat in the 4th quarter, driving to the hoop, getting free throws, rebounding, BIG assist to Artest's 3 with a minute remaining, all the while playing lockdown D on Rondo, Allen and PP.

Kobe SET AN NBA FINALS RECORD for rebounds by a guard in NBA HISTORY (15) in game 7 of the 2010 Finals and he was having a "terrible shooting night" because, unlike LeFraud, he played THROUGH injuries rather than use injuries as an EXCUSE. Kobe had to have his left knee drained BEFORE EVERY SINGLE QUARTER in Game 7 of 2010, played with bone spurs in his ankles, a partially torn patellar tendon, and TWO broke fingers in his shooting hand. He had multiple surgeries within weeks of game 7 (so it wasn't just excuse making, these were serious, surgery-necessary injuries).
Oh and NO BOSTON PLAYER, even their bigs, had MORE OFFENSIVE REBOUNDS than Kobe in game 7. That's what greatness looks like. One of the top 3 scorers in NBA HISTORY WON THE GAME via Rebounding.
Oh and he shut down Ray Allen that game (who was just as bad as Kobe shooting that night thanks to Kobe's defense, but nobody talks about it for some strange reason).

Kobe really has that mentality that:" yes, I can brick all day today, but you have to brick more than me, and I will turning up the intensity of other aspects of the game, defense, rebounds ,etc. It's so dumb to see people accusing his poor shooting that day, but they never checked how bad his opponents played also.

I think this one is actually fair especially if you really watched back then. Like JJ said in 08 they had the best team in the NBA since they were the only one with a Big 3 of that magnitude (Spurs Big 3 were different). Thibbs was the mastermind for their defensive schemes and rotations which was widely acknowledged back then. The seasons after winning the chip there was tension between rondo and doc coz he questioned his coaching, then thibbs left for chicago.

Multiple players, including Rasheed Wallace, have said Doc Rivers doesn't make in-game adjustments. ( you can find videos on TH-cam)
To be a coach on the professional level, that's ridiculous.

Rondo was and is still my favorite PG of all time. He was definitely up there during the times of '08-'10. If you ask me. Like he said he did things that a lot of other point guards didn't do. Russ probably the only other pg that picked up from that. And maybe Ja. But I don't see anyone else that was really like Rondo. Unique style of play.
