The date in the opening scene is Jonghyun Birthday and by the rap part when they dance closely shoulder on shoulder Taemin reaches out to our Angel
Atlantis is a completely different vibe than "Don't Call Me". SHINee always delivers great songs and MVs. SHINee is back!!!!!
As you may know, "Atlantis" is a mythical city that is part of a story within Greek mythology, referring to the Lost City of Atlantis. The story of Atlantis is most often depicted as a utopian society on an island that became submerged and lost in the middle of the ocean. So SHINee's MV is referencing the lost city of Atlantis which is why you see them selling seafood and why you see them underwater, etc. As I interpret the MV, the convenience store is a cover for the fact that it sits on top of a portal to the city of Atlantis. To the average person, the store just looks like a regular store, but if you are in on the secret you know that if you head to the storage room or basement, etc. you will find a magical elevator/submarine that will take you to "Atlantis."
Fun fact: Although all the aqua blue you see in this MV is supposed to represent water and the city of Atlantis, SHINee's fan color is pearl aqua, so all the aqua blue and green colors you see in the MV also represent SHINee as a group and their connection to their fans.
Also, as with everything SHINee does, they always make sure to include Jonghyun in everything they do. If you notice the MNet date in the bottom left corner in the opening scene of the MV, it says April 8, which is Jonghyun's birthday. And if you pay attention to the choreography when the members put their arms on each others' shoulders, if you notice, Taemin stretches his arm out as if he is resting it on an invisible person next to him, which is thought to be a nod to the fact that this is where Jonghyun would be, and even in some of the choreography they leave a wide gap in the middle which fans also think was done as a reference to Jonghyun's spot in the group.
Taemin is so busy these days. He has said that he really has never taken a true vacation since he was a trainee -- he started with SM Entertainment when he was around 11 years old -- and he doesn't know what to do if he isn't constantly working and training. The thing that he hates the most is when people assume he has had it easy because he is part of a big and powerful company and he is so naturally talented. As he has said, there has never been anything that has come easy to him and he has only gotten to where he is today because he has worked hard to accomplish everything. He is constantly pushing himself to become the best of the best in everything he does. The first time he said he ever took a break was in 2018 when he took a couple of days off without doing anything work related. But he says he didn't really like it, that's why you see him constantly producing new music and involved in one project after another without any break. So, as you've seen, he was promoting SuperM's Super One album -- "100," "Tiger Inside," and "One (Monster & Infinity)," etc. -- and touring with SuperM, while he was also working on his most recent solo comeback with his Never Gonna Dance Again trilogy of albums -- "2 Kids," "Criminal," "Idea" and "Think of You," etc. And then, even before he was done with his solo promotions, he started working on SHINee's "Don't Call Me" comeback. And then while promoting with SHINee he also was working on SuperM's new song and MV "We Do" andhe just recorded his first solo OST (Original Soundtrack song) for the K-Drama Navillea, all while preparing for SHINee's repackaged album comeback "Atlantis". He also has a solo Japanese comeback next month, and I wouldn't be surprised if SHINee isn't also working on their Japanese comeback. (With almost every Korean album and comeback SHINee usually follows it up with a Japanese album and comeback.) Taemin has released music either as a member of SHINee, as a solo artist, as a member of a group project or as a member of SuperM every year since SHINee's debut in 2008, and in between everything, he is also doing concerts and promoting all of it.
Taemin's push to cram so much into this past year and a half I think is all in preparation for the fact that he will be enlisting in the military later this summer and he will be on hiatus for 18 months as he completes is duties to his country. Which will actually force him to take a break and he might even get some rest. LOL Taemin is the last of the members to enlist. Onew was discharged in July, Key was discharged in October and Minho was released in November, so while the other members were away for about 2 years, it was up to Taemin to be SHINee's representative and to hold down the fort. So, while Taemin is gone it will be the other members turn to return the favor.

I love Area ! Such a different sound. It was written by Minho who was inspired by SHINee lyrics that Jonghyun wrote

This choreography reminds me of a fish tail movement and of course there are times when there is room for jjong. Taemin's rock vocals become more mesmerizing, as if he were a mermaid who lures with his voice. Minho with this rap and sss that resembles the sound of the waves. Onew and his long high note is just wow and the Key completes the whole thing.
