Lankum perform Bear Creek at Glastonbury 2024. Watch more highlights on BBC iPlayer: www.bbc.co.uk/... Listen to sets and highlights on BBC Sounds: bbc.co.uk/soun...
I think it's originally an American tune. I remember watching a video of two American fiddle players playing this tune. Edit : Found the video and the title of it is - Bear Creek - Old-time Fiddle
@@marianlynch4829Re our music been lost, not a chance, take a trip to the Willie Clancy week fest, July 6th see and hear the youth blast out the Irish tunes, and if you don't believe me, visit the all Ireland fleadh in Wexford in August.. Slainte..
What the hell mix are we listening here? The side fills? The monitors? A mic about 50 to side of the stage? Such a let down sound wise, I was in the crowd for this and it sounded bloody awful there and then. How on earth can this stage have had such bad stage design, there was about half as much PA flown as was needed, and whoever mixes these guys was either shafted by the festival or doesn't have a clue how to mix real instruments. Lankum are one of the best bands in the world, they were not served well AT ALL in this performance by the team around them.
@@PhetrusX Sounds like you advocate massacres, furthermore, people at a music festival unarmed, as well as elderly, children on farms. Are you seeing a good psychotherapist ?
Oh right where a bunch of Nazis, I mean Zionists, were partying right next to where people were starving. How about we never forget the nearly 80,000 innocent people massacred by Israel since then. Or the 700,000 slaughtered in 1948, or the millions of Palestinians slaughtered in between 1948 and Oct. 7th, for simply existing.
Yes - isn't it great when artists uses their platform to highlight injustice?! You don't know Glastonbury and you clearly don't know Lankum or The Mary Wallopers for that matter....or the vast majority of people in Ireland who can relate.
If you don't understand the history of solidarity between ireland and palestine as two colonised countries who experienced occupation, more fool you. Plenty of books and articles written on the subject, and the band speak about it regularly.
@@dairebeare7839 Have you just made it up out of thin air. There is no 'history' of solidarity with Palestine, unless you mean modern times. Palestine was not a nation but of course, bombing day after day is not on - but the irony is, these people waving flags, the Hamas leaders in their mansions in Qatar ( great with the people ! ) must love the flags being waved but the warped irony is that many fail to comprehend is, that these are exactly the people they targeted to massacre for being 'western liberalist' - when the Palestinian people are free from Hamas also, then they can finally get on. Problem is, the history for many decades, means many Palestine men, get involved in Hamas or the PLO and that is why no arabic nation will take them in, as they have been taken in before and then attacked those same countries from within for something, whether they do not get enough money or whatever reason. So, stop the bombing, stop Hamas. People have been trying for many decades. Some flag waving at Glastonbury won't make much difference unfortunately, apart from to say "I support Palestine". Mixing this with the music just overshadows it.
Lankum stays so true to themselves. Love it!
So proud of Lankum bringing their brand of Irish trad music to the global stage! A truly special group of musicians
Hands down the best band I saw all weekend. Absolutely amazing
Donyou have full video of Cosmo sheldrake and others you can share?
I'm just so happy for them
I'm from the United States and have never heard of these guys. This song is amazing 🤩
Go listen to their cover of Willow Garden. It’s so good.
Glad to hear it brother. Listen to their albums False Lankum and The Livelong Day if you get the chance, they're brilliant too!
Yes. Another Irish band. Fantastic
The two tunes are actually American, from the old time tradition

My glasto highlight! At one point there was all these Pal flags and she said "good luck trying to cut them all out BBC"
The BBC are pro Palestinian...... Or hadn't you noticed?
The BBC support Palestine.
Incredible talent
Dammit, I didn't realise I missed a very rare opportunity to see a Uilleann Pipe played live in the flesh!
gorgeousness , Lankum love
Godlike.
They did a great gig in Kilmainham this month.
INCREDIBLE
So much talent came out of Ireland..Must be something in the water...
It’s the culture, we have our own culture, colonisation likes to pretend that doesn’t exist
Fluoride. Delicious.
Tis the uisce beatha, gan doubt ar fad
@@laurag5648yes,...but it will be lost soon at the rate things are going...

Incredible……❤
There’s a Bear Creek near where I lived in Colorado and I used to drive through the mountains listening to this imagining it was about THAT Bear Creek
Go Ireland!

Unbelievable from lankum best instrumental on their behalf 🎵🎵🎵
Radie smiled - at around 8.01
Give her the benefit of the doubt...might have been a grimace.
Should be headlining the pyramid stage

This song doesn’t need the drums
NEVER FORGET NOVA FESTIVAL

Nope, this is a comment about politics at a music festival
Ok let's leave it there so
It's just like the ice bucket challenge...what ever is the latest to go along with.....Few years from now it will be the next fad ( protest)
What a bitter comment to make. You actually thought about typing that out and then thought it would be a good idea to post it.
Ohh, you’re so cynical wow😮
Oh please tell me you're not Irish too - I'm scarlet for you.
I don't think you've met Irish people before. A free Palestine has rightly never been a fad for them.
About 90 years of mutual solidarity is hardly a fad now Maria
Hahahaha, how in the hell did this lot blag their way in.....this up there with river dance..
up there with a show that has grossed over 1 billion dollars in ticket sales... okay then
Judging by your other comments, you're quite the little troll, aren't you? Not getting enough attention from your parents?
Quite the little troll aren't you? Not getting enough attention at home?
I bet you have a crappy band. Mad jealous.
Was enjoying that and then noticed a Palestine flag.
I hope you can recover!
As an Irish person, that was fucking boring.
As a boring person that was Irish.
Only the first 3 minutes - then the most all time electric Irish trad ever! I'm confused this shite the first 3min!
I did not know they were from palestine and hamas supporters. weird.
Why are they Hamas supporters? or are you not clever enough to differentiate the two?
Lazy or just stupid?
We know now that you are a twit.😅😅😅
