While you and AirBnb are working on separate projects, It’s amazing to see how all these initiatives are coming together for the betterment of the community! The mayor of Sambuca must be excited from all of these new projects!
I believe he is! We talked to him a few days ago and he greets everyone with a lot of excitement. There's a member of the town hall that is dedicated to working with foreign investors and everything. He's constantly on the phone with radio and TV because of all the things that have been going on.
Awesome! Thanks for this one brother! Yes i actually recently applied for that place via Airbnb! Haha... it's nice to know where i might be living! Thanks! 😂
Haha. Awesome! Hope you get it! 🙏 i figured a few of you might want to know it is legit. Pretty awesome location to be honest. Right at the base of the huge terrace
Thanks for sharing. I applied a few weeks ago to the bnb contest and have been curious to see more about it. Fingers crossed! Either way, it’s been interesting to learn about Sambuca from this campaign.
Hi Dauvo! My name is Sabrina and I am a 3rd generation Calabrian/Sicilian living in Montreal, Canada. I am so glad I came across your channel! It’s always been my dream to live in Italy… I entered your contest, keeping my fingers crossed! 🤞🇮🇹❤️
. . .also did you happen to get the contacts for who actually did the renovation work ? The craftsmanship and the detailing in this place, looks amazing
I know they've chosen, it hasn't been announced publicly yet. I did hear some details about the winner today though... I have to wait for the public announcement to say anything
I was wondering if you'd do a video of the airbnb house! Thank you for sharing. I already signed up for your giveaway and the airbnb contest. I've been binge watching your videos in anticipation 😂 We'll get there somehow!!!
Awesome! Yes i knew about from when i was here in October, and almost posted something last week when it was big news, but decided this was much more useful to those of you who wanted to get involved with the giveaway. Glad to hear about your addiction! Binge watch away!
I am interested in ready to move in homes in Italy and will be interested in any assistance you can give me. Potentially a holiday home with option of renting it while not in use
Hi, the referral link for the 1eurogiveaway.com site is found by looking either in the referral dashboard or the rewards page. I've also sent out emails on monday with your link located at the bottom, below the signature. You just copy and paste it in the social media channel of your choice.
Haha! Maybe one day we’ll get a property in Italy. That would be fun! We are always looking for more real estate investments. 😉 In the process of hunting for something in North Carolina at the moment. Market is crazy high right now.
I don't like the red so much would've continued the green/blue color or a light grey. Other than that I like what they did and already applied! Great work!
sir can you tell me that what i have to do if i got selected in Airbnb project and how can i earn money there, because as a student i have low finance but i love to adventure and want to wander around the world
Very good idea. I think the dark green is a bit depressing though. Shame lighter fresh colours haven’t been used instead of the brown and shocking red. Visitors on holiday want light and bright
Most European's wouldn't have any trouble, if you are out of Europe you would need a long term stay visa which could be for various motives (school, work, elective residency, investment)
I think it would have been better if u kept a little bit of Italian decor and Architecture inside. It is so sad that Ur in Sicily but inside it feels nothing like it . ( Just an opinion not a negative one 😅) good luck anyways thanks for sharing ❤️
I understand your point! Just to make sure we're on the same page.. I didn't design this.. I think you know that haha. I believe the architects feel as is they did use inspirations from the area at the same time as giving it a modern feel.
Thanks for letting mme know! I used the Rode Go II for the first time that apparently makes you switch between split and merged modes and edited on the road and didn't realize that the mics were set to mono from my laptop audio. I'll pay more attention in the future!
Yes it is possible to buy, but the renovation would require much more. It's a bit hard to find one that doesn't need an intervention of one sort or another.
@@DauvO Thanks David! Seems like it’s always cheaper to buy a new house than those old broken houses..what is the minimum from your experience and what you’ve heard?
So... In order for this to be really worth while, it's the offered income from hosting that's alluring. Do you have any info at all on what kind of income that involves? I mean besides living rent free? I mean you can travel all over Sicily and if you want to rent directly from any local resident and long term, it's so cheap it's hardly worth mentioning really. Now it may not be a "designer space" but it's more private and autonomous than this. Ie a studio apartment. You can just ask at the local taverna if they know of a cheap flat and you'll immediately be given contacts. A friend of mine does this most of the year, renting for periods from a few weeks to several months as he travels around Sicily on his motorcycle. He's a freelance musician, has an income, but needs to be able to practice his instrument, and loves to cook. The rent he's payed is rediculous, the cost of eating out and groceries eating in is a joke in Sicily too. Having hosted my own place in another country whilst also being present in adjoining property is really much more work than hosting remotely employing cleaning and key services, I mean ALOT more. When guests know you are physically around they're subconsciously needier and lazier and will ask about everything and knock or text you at any hour rather than just find out for themselves. I guess if you're a student this is fun for a few months, but for anyone else I'd say it all depends on that offered income potential. You'd need a minimum guaranteed regardless of airbnb bookings (which depend on previous mamagement and marketing plus the area).
2 honest questions: 1. why do you advertise all these properties? Are you a broker? Do you want them all full of anglophones? Do you assume most who watch will never follow through and so the channel is mainly for entertaining and providing you an alternate stream of income? I'm just not sure why you'd go to so much trouble to show this online if it's not somehow part of an arrangement you have with the cities, or you're the broker, or have something to benefit from it. 2. Should I feel discouraged that I'm just now finding out about this market from a 2 year old CNN article, and is it the case that most of the pre- 1920's classic Italian houses in beautiful spots are taken? Please help me to have a realistic view! I'm seeing more and more expats owning these and I feel if there are so many on TH-cam, there must be scads of others who already jumped on this in the past 3 years.
Hi Allison! I started this whole channel as a means of getting to know like minded people and provide consulting services.. A major influencer / motivator for me was a bad real estate deal that made me want to educate others to avoid the pitfalls. The last few years Italian real estate has become a sort of fad or trend. I have a question for you... Do you think it is better to leave the properties abandoned? Or to have some outside money/influence restore them while boosting the local economy? I don't' work for a broker, I'm just an investor... sometimes I collaborate based on finders fees, but not very often. I see this channel as more educational/entertaining than as a form of transactional step. If someone asks me about a property that I share, I usually just point them in the right direction.
@@DauvO I see! Thank you for replying and for not taking my questions as an offense, I just didn't know how else to ask! I agree that foreign investment will be wonderful for these towns. I've been growing some hope that there might be an opportunity for my family as well, and I'm already dealing with fears that there's nothing left, isn't that silly! 😋 We live in a housing market that's exploded from wealthy coastal people and investors moving in, and its priced us out. Me being a local and just out of school, but in my late 30's(long term expat in Asia with no assets) and so needing to buy not rent, I'm afraid of the same type of disappointment again, of being too late. It's interesting isn't it, how fear can keep people from even trying to jump into a great opportunity. My husband believes we should instead be aggressively optimistic right now to acquire properties and lands for our family's sake and for building wealth, even if it means a mortgage, and so channels like yours fall right in line with that optimism, and they are what we need, and what these towns need💖

Cool idea by Airbnb! They did a great job with the house.
I agree. Fun to see unique designs implemented
Thanks for giving us a tour of the Airbnb home. It's so great to bring attention to these areas and the effort to revive them.
No problem! Yes, we're brainstorming ways of supporting local communities everyday! Any good ideas? Thanks for watching!
Applied for this a few days ago also, great to see more of the inside. Thanks for sharing! Applied for yours as well!
I'm so greatful for the insight you are giving us. I'm really interested in a home there but don't know where to start. From South Africa.
Such a cool project! I can easily seeing myself doing it! Being a digital nomad for years give you the right skills :)
I'm sure you'd be very welcome there!

I like the idea of hosting for a year and getting a free place to stay while you get to be part of the community.
It would be a cool experience for sure!

Glad you like it! I know Airbnb's team worked hard to provide this solution
Very interesting! Do you have any indication that tourism is increasing in this area in response to all the interest being generated?
Thanks for the great video about auctions!
No problem. Hope it is useful
Love the look of this bnb
Ya, me too! It's fun to see bold colors and designs implemented

I applied too,but no response...
The deadline ended this February 2022?? :( My husband and my 2 kids are planning to move in Italy in 2 months
Where are they heading?

Hi Maddie! Thanks for the question! Could you explain it a bit better so that i can be sure to answer it correctly? Thanks 😊
How can I earn as host, please can you tell me in a brief.
Please tell about total cost of "One Euro Home" Scheme, Scisly,.
Dauvo, we are now in Abruzzo. Can we catch up?
Hi just submitted! Can’t wait to see what happens
It'll be fun to see who wins!
That house is so nice. I would love to live in Italy
It was truly done well! The view from the balcony was outstanding!

@dauvo does it have to be a fluent English speaker to be host of the Airbnb as I have a sicilian friend who is looking for a change in her life. 😊
They do say English is a must. What level of English, I'm not sure. You can find more info on their page i'm sure.
They said conversational English fluent English is good
