Reviewing contestants' singles is a great idea. Can you review Abi Carter's "It's All Love" next? It's got a run in it, which I really like, but you've been critical of some of her run choices in the show.
Thanks Clark. I love listening to you and your critiques. Mia has a beautiful special voice. Wishing her boatloads of success! Ps. Curious Do you watch The Voice ? I am a fan of both Idol and the voice
CLARK!!!! Thank you so much!!! Means more than you’ll ever know! I actually released this before Idol. I used all the money I got for my high school graduation to pay to record it hahaha… anddd I only had enough to pay for an acoustic version😅 Keegan Ferrell (the producer) ended up adding a little more to the production, just cause haha. I wrote this when I was 16, sad on my bedroom floor, and I was so nervous to put it out cause it was like reading my journal! I appreciate you!
You have a beautiful voice .. loved you on Idol and had wanted you in the finale!! Your mom did a wonderful job raising two amazing daughters. Good luck in your future career 🙏
Thanks for critiquing the song. By the way, this song was released before her Idol run. Sorry if I didn't communicate that well enough to you. But I'm glad you agreed it is an awesome song.
Am I the only one that is surprised when a contestant has already made a record? Wasn't the original premise that the contestants were new to the business. What is the point of the show anymore - much more like The Voice these days.
AI has constantly done manipulations in the hopes of better ratings. For instance, a few years ago an Idol winner from another country was voted out during audition because they said he couldn't sing.
ANYONE can make a record. You literally write something and record it (mix and master) and release it by yourself - you can book a studio, record at home...buy someone to produce the music. You don't need a record deal for that. There are thousands and thousands of amateur singers/semi professionals/music students etc. releasing their own records worldwide. Almost all of them cannot make a living off of music. This definitely looks like a very small scale release. I would argue it's a really good sign that musicians are being creative and trying to get their music out there by themselves - that's just very normal in music. The chances of making it through a talent show are incredibly slim. Other than that: American idol is looking for people watching the show ;-)...and yes, someone that can make it big in music. The industry is INSANELY hard. You can have a contract and get dropped the next minute. You can make a record and nobody might listen to it and so on...Why should these people not be presented in this show? It's not like they already made it big...big.
The pressure for louder and more, plus running around and dancing at the same time doesn’t serve many of them well. At the end of the day we want the sublime voice, not the rockstar bells and whistles. All that distraction loses the beauty and emotion. I get that the next idol is supposed to be a star, but cramming everyone into the same mold isn’t the way.
If she could have done her original songs we would have this type of experience, just like other singer songwriters on the show... but the AI model of forced themes gives us cover tunes and lanes that stifle originality... that's a shame but it is what it is...a glorified TV show with little impact on the real music industry.
Thanks for the kind words, Clark! Produced this for Mia here in Nashville. She's the real deal.
When she was on the Voice with her Family, I´ve always thought that this young woman has something special. Her timbre is just beautifull.

Go Mia! 🖤
So Beautiful! I like this better than anything you sang on Idol!

Miss you on Idol!
🙏 !oved this review because it opened my eyes to production.
Excellent. Glad you're doing these. You make musicality come alive.
Thanks!
As in other AI years the best singers get voted off 😢
Star Search probably had the most future successful singers voted out. Most of the time is that they were children at the time.
Id love for you to review one of mine!!!
Similar to driver's license by Olivia Rodrigo. Funny because both songs are sorta car/driving related with a similar mood.
Would have loved to hear Mia on one of the beautiful Disney songs.
You should do one of Jacks originals next!
Hope the song becomes a hit! Love it.
So so good!
I knew she'd be fine ❤🎸
love the song, powerful
She has a sweet higher range.

I've watched some other AI contestants social media. Umm, why do so many of them sound better BEFORE American Idol?

The oddest one is Britney Spears from her Star Search days and then her pro days.
🔥
Listen to a Kayko song next! He has like 30 on Spotify
