Good question. Though, I have seen a few 3rd party projects where the answer is very clearly Lego Technic/Bionicle/Hero Factory from some of the pieces. EDIT: But yeah, this one is absolutely wild.
It's a nice niche to fill. People wanted "Flame Toys designs that transformed". We get it from Wonderful Trans and now even from T-Spark(Rodimus), the latter being officially licensed.
Huh, it's like an ultra-fiddly version of WFC Siege Opty. I think I like the simple upscale KO that just moved the forearm kibble to the backplate better, though.
@@squilly4148 Sorry, I don't, I just found it on Amazon slogging through the forty or so pages of results for "deformation" I think, or else "optimus." I do remember that the vehicle mode picture wasn't correctly transformed so it didn't have the bumper out, instead having a gap and his hip plate showing, but there were multiple listings. I got a second one in Nemesis black and teal, so it's worth checking those too. Does not include the gun, only the axe, and the toes are diecast, which I dislike because of paint chipping but is at least better than putting it in the upper body.
@@squilly4148 Also, YT won't let me post a link to the black version, after finding it in my Amazon order history, but it's still there if now $56+15 S&H. They used to be $38 IIRC, and probably still are on, like, AliExpress etc.. The normal colors one is no longer listed at all, but I've seen it numerous other times.
I've had this guy for a while and just could not figure out how to get the cab to square up. It was all the hand orientation and positioning that did it for me. I think this is the ONLY video I've seen with him that shows how the hands are supposed to go.
Suggestion for swapping faceplates, Turn the figure upside down, gravity will keep the faceplate in place. It works with mine ^^ Thank you for these in-depth transformation instructions. I could not figure out how to make mine fit quite right, I'll have to try it again soon. Thanks so much!
I've never liked the Flame Toys non-transforming Transformers, for that one fact. And the cost of them too, well beyond my means. Now that there are transformable versions, looks interesting.
emgo you are basically my childhood and your words remember you dont stop playing because you grow old you grow old because you stop playing sure may make my mom mad when i say it sometimes but they meant alot to me (which is why ill never stop buying transformers)
On my TV the black parts of the head came across looking like dark blue, and now that I think about it I think that'd be a cool way to break up Prime's design a bit. If the black were more limited it'd remind me of Animated Optimus.
You know how you said that the plates under the feet might be the only metal on the figure? Well, during the transformation, a lot of the joints had that "die-cast gleam." If you don't know what I mean, I mean that some of the joints had that shine that die-cast unpainted pieces have, and the finish is different compared to the plastic
Okay, since you asked... I really dislike the black accents on the head and hands there. A different shade of blue would have been a better choice IMHO. That said, this is definitely not for me. The design is too busy overall, especially the chest-detail behind the windshields, which resembles the pattern of veins in a dragonfly's wings in a way that I cannot unsee. The lack of a secure post or magnet for the swappable faceplates is an inexcusable oversight at this price-point. The transformation looks fiddly to the point of aggravation, and that truck-mode is, well, pretty awful. Now, to be fair, I don't like the liberties the original Flame Toys model took with the IDW design, so this was never going to be something I liked, and the over-execution here just seals the deal. Glad you enjoy it and glad you reviewed it. Excellent work as always.
Huh, I wasn't really feeling the truck mode until the weapons got stowed on it. The front of the cab and the sides just look... off to me without them for some reason.
I wonder if Wonderful Trans is an affiliate of Flame Toys because so far every figure that I know of that they made is a Flame Toys design that they made fully transformable
I like the robot's design I think it looks great, but my goodness I'd keep him in robot mode. Watching the transformation just urghhhh so many steps it was exhausting to watch, I couldn't do it. All I could think was there was there are much simpler transformation that that you can enjoy, but that's just me
When the hell did prime have claws and missiles? Prime? You taking stuff from wheel-jack and Starscream? Scream will scam you dude. Remember burritos and Pepsi? He won’t stop until you say yes to that. Leonidas told me and you. Cause prime. THIS. IS. CYBERTRON!!!!!! And emgo? You look like ur had a terrible day :/ want hot chocolate?
Very cool! I'd love to have him, but I doubt I'd transform him more than once or twice. There looks to be a LOT of fiddly and thin plastic bits supporting big assemblies and thin panelling in the truck mode. All slightly pressured movement which will likely develop noticeable stress marks or snapping. Also the slightly different shades of red plastic spoil the clean look of the paneling on the truck cab. Great video as always, Emgo!
My main gripe with most Prime figures is, they put ao much engineering into the cab/robot mode and the legs are just "There" very little transformation to hide them or make the part of truck mode!! You could make a 5th wheel assembly become a sheild if u didn't want to include in part of transformation!!
I bet this figure could do "The Robot"! With his articulation, that's wild. Also I actually like the look of BOTH modes, however despite how good his truck mode looks compared to 1,000 other looks, I don't think I could handle transforming him very much at all. He actually looks very brittle in certain places that you wouldn't notice until he is being transformed. And ANY company whose QC department lets a figure pass inspection missing a piece that isn't hidden but right there!🤔... Yeah I'll pass despite how good he looks. Great job here EMGO.
So, quick summary then? Had the potential of being a pretty decent figure, but somewhat spoilt by a few glaring qc issues, and a godawful looking vehicle mode 🤷♂️
The title is misleading as hell, i came here expecting this truck to turn into a Daisy Taylor doll or something like that but no, it had to be another Optimus Prime.
Never thought I'd see a truck with a receding hairline
Nailed it in one.
0:05 - 0:08 Damn right, Mascot! It’s PRIME TIME!!!!!!!!!!
Wonder how engineering for these things start. That very first autocad draft? How do they plan it?
Good question.
Though, I have seen a few 3rd party projects where the answer is very clearly Lego Technic/Bionicle/Hero Factory from some of the pieces.
EDIT: But yeah, this one is absolutely wild.
End of skit: Bumblebee: ( in his head ) One of these days prime I will show you, just you wait.
Prime ran out of faces to take, so he started ripping off his own.
It's a nice niche to fill. People wanted "Flame Toys designs that transformed". We get it from Wonderful Trans and now even from T-Spark(Rodimus), the latter being officially licensed.
I'm going to assume that his face gimmick is either supposed to be magnetic, or there's a QC issue that caused the pegs to be assembled outside in
from what ive seen around its a QC issue. The pegs on the face are supposed to peg into that faceplate on the head
It also looks like he has the neck facing the side and the head facing forward so things don't fit together well
Wow. What a transformation! 😮
I'm ok with the black on the face mold.
Huh, it's like an ultra-fiddly version of WFC Siege Opty. I think I like the simple upscale KO that just moved the forearm kibble to the backplate better, though.
There's such a thing
Do you know the ko brand for that seige optimus? Because I love that figure but I can't stand the forearm kibble so that ko figure sounds amazing

You can try looking for "tangmuer" or "jiuuy" I guess, but those are just the Amazon seller/importers, I'm pretty sure.
Just watched the Cang Toys Stegsarow. Looks like Prime got wheeljack to like him after all.
…wow.
Emgo, I’m so happy you did this so I can NEVER mess with this guy. Massive fiddlyness just isn’t fun.
I imagine we'll see this officially in T-Spark.
I would just glue the face in if it's going to give you that much trouble
I see why Flame Toys didn't make their transform, way too complicated.
1000% agreed I would glue the battle mask face permanently. Great review
I have the model this came from!! I WAS SO EXCITED TO SEE IT MADE INTO A FULL FUNCTIONING TRANSFORMER!!!
I think the missiles go on the hips skirts
I think it's time for another Mascot review we haven't had a new one in a while
I've had this guy for a while and just could not figure out how to get the cab to square up. It was all the hand orientation and positioning that did it for me. I think this is the ONLY video I've seen with him that shows how the hands are supposed to go.

Never knew Optimus was a fan of Hexadecimal...🤔
That's a pretty SCSI comment :)
She's just misunderstood.
I have this figure and after using the lights once they just gave up but i really love the figure and robot modes look
It's a beautiful looking figure - but it looks like a pain in the butt to transform
I really like the black and blue. But I also love Nemesis Prime.
Those black pieces look more like dark blue to me, or maybe that's just the camera.
If this company ends up focusing on making Flamer Toys, or non transformable figures in general, transform, that would be a pretty cool little line.
34:46 " Because lil buddy I'm awesome and your not"
I've never liked the Flame Toys non-transforming Transformers, for that one fact. And the cost of them too, well beyond my means.

I loved this design.
Awesome video as always... Please review Laser cat steel head commander chibi Optimus Prime.

So Prime wants to give someone else his face instead of ripping someone else's off. Lmao!
car mode looks like its unfinished
How so?
It definitely looks like the neck is facing sideways and getting in the way of the face

Aarr noyse 😍 love the knee joints
oh cool. HOLY SHIT IT TRANSFORM
I like it, I really do. My company is named atlas, though, and would give me nightmares if my company flew with a jet pack!
very cool figure but i feel we have done this one before. soo familar.
Spettacolare! Questo Optimus prime però trasformazione e molto complicata
He looks gorgeous, but that transformation... that looks like some Alien Attack level nonsense 😒
You're a more patient man than me, Emgo!
Nice
Prime just loves being mean to Bumblebee doesn't he
I’ll say if I could,I would.
I like the robot's design I think it looks great, but my goodness I'd keep him in robot mode. Watching the transformation just urghhhh so many steps it was exhausting to watch, I couldn't do it. Sky Atlas kinda has that Transformers: Reactivate vibe with his added black trim scheme.
Nice review, that faceplate tho man...
Okay.. now gimme a shattered glass version and I might be down to get one.
wonder why none have just used a magnet
I cal them eartenna.
Why is Optimus Prime such a jerk!!😂😂
Because it's hilarious!
Prime why the long face? ,I'll see myself out
This has got to be this company's take on TF ONE Orion/Optimus non child version.
Dude...that transformation looks painful 😢

cool
It's Prime time! Yeah boy!
I hope the make a nemesis prime
no upgrades for Bee cause hes not awesome like Prime XD
hes a transfolder... 🤣
Can you this figure transform?
Why is his crotch plate that big. Geez Prime Jeremy 😂

will you file a complaint that your figure is out of whack and need a new one??
Got a copy of this figure and have buyers regret.
Those ears ain't black, they navy.
Oooooooo take my damn money!!!!!!
It's an interesting piece for collection, but the transformation is painful!!!
Sorry to be a Debbie downer, but maybe they could've done another pass on it to fix the issues.
Man, i was so excited when i got this but was sooo disappointed

Wonderful trans 😅😅😅
No. The falling face ruined it.
So, quick summary then? Had the potential of being a pretty decent figure, but somewhat spoilt by a few glaring qc issues, and a godawful looking vehicle mode 🤷♂️
I may have to save for him, because god damn he’s pretty!
Emo Optimus being all edgy with his black highlights...
Great engineering, I think, that that of fans hubby's ridiculous sky flame.
that is not fun to transform at all
Was interested in this until I saw the alt mode. That cab is ugly.
It looks like kratos' shield.
so far this product is just bad
The title is misleading as hell, i came here expecting this truck to turn into a Daisy Taylor doll or something like that but no, it had to be another Optimus Prime.
optimus prime is a trans? o.o
wonderful trans, just in time for pride month
