Although I agree that Mike Pence is terrifying. Being president doesn't mean you can force your agenda on to the country, Obama certainly wasn't allowed to. Pence's issue is gay right and I honestly feel like the country has moved beyond this- interestingly, Trump didn't go near this issue on the campaign. The upside of Pence is that he isn't going to pal up with Russia, he isn't going to dismantle NATO, he isn't going to rile up China or nuke the middle east. At this point, impeachment is are only way forward.

He was impeached in the House of representatives but acquitted in the Senate. The house of representatives holds the power of impeachment and the Senate hold trial for guilt or acquittal. viksra While I didn't exactly predict this (I thought Clinton would win), I was surprised at how surprised the media was at trump's victory. The polls showed Clinton with only a slight lead with trump gaining ground. based on that, one would have concluded that a clinton win was more likely but with a possibility of a trump upset. Therefore, I wasn't entirely surprised when Trump won and I wonder why the media was. to me, they were just in denial, not seeing what was right in front of them. I don't buy their narrative that the polls were wrong. The polls were quite correct but I think the media can't own up to their mistake and now they're trying to blame the polls.

The presidential election is based on electoral college, professor. You needed to study what was going on battle ground states. It could have gone either way. Perhaps Clinton could have campaigned more in these states. Yes it is true that democrats are losing every two years in other government elections. i never attended UC Berkeley as a student, I attended as a protester in the late 60s when freedom of speech was still being preached. Today what you see @ Berkeley is not what we stood for. you need to get educated. Obama was still trying to figure out who his daddy was in those days.

I was quite "captivated" by what was laid-out by Prof. Allan Lichtman. His reasoning was spot on, and coincides with one of my thoughts regarding polls: People lie in such "surveys", especially, on the telephone. One figures "No one can see me, and none of my friends and family would recognize my answers", since names are not singled out from the "thundering herds". All in all, an interesting video from the days immediately following the 2016 presidential election. Aside from the dialog here, it made me think back to those torturous statistics classes I took in university. Was shocked, SHOCKED(!) that my brain had even remembered such things. I just hope the Professor is right about impeachment. " Well that line forms on the right..." (From the song "Mack the Knife", from the German stage production, "Three Penny Opera" was written by Weill/Brecht/Blitzstein.) I certainly hope Allan Lichtman keeps his string of accurate predictions of presidential election outcomes going, and that his predictions of impeachment is on the mark!
