    Scheler was certainly wrong about plants. I will say this: if you have never heard of Primary Perception in Plants (Cleve Backster), something of interest is surely in store for you. Beyond that, I don't know how Max could be so wrong; Aristotle for one wrote authoritatively about the levels of soul. Who thinks plants aren't conscious? Max's son was a diagnosed psychopath... Hmph.
    For a fuller picture about evolution, go outside your usual intellectual boundary, and read The Ra Material (1981) -- more precisely, the discussion of densities. Why speculate when you can know? It's readily available.

      Actually i dont think theres a definitive truth on the matter, but i do think a panpsychist account may make sense for some. I am of the view at the moment anyway that living things have soul but not non living things. Just seem less extravagant
