Trevor Evans Thank you for your consideration. Yes, the water temperature was about 4’C that day 🥶 I always keep safety in mind and plan to fly high enough to have gliding distance to land. I use a navigation system that helps me estimate gliding distance. So I shouldn’t need to set it down on water. The most critical part of this route is actually the first part, closest to my homebase, as we are normally not allowed higher than 1500ft altitude inside the control zone because of other traffic. The plane is also a STOL (short take off an landing) plane, equipped with a emergency parachute system, and I have life jacket on with a waterproof PLB attached. I always wear clothes suited to survive the outside temperatures for the area I fly over. The base I am flying from is also base to Norwegian rescue helicopter, so they normally have quick response. I wouldn’t want to swim in that icy water, but I feel safe when I fly, as I always take my precautions and have a focus on safety.

@@stianvaag9304 I'm very familiar with the A22, I've owned two of them, one in the UAE and one in BC Canada. Great aircraft and Rotax are reliable. The scenery you're flying over is magnificent. Blue Skies!
