Sitting in my room now and staring at all of my many cacti and and just feeling the pain. At this point I'm so use to cactus stings, but Cholla cacti take the cake. These guys got some real balls. Respect. Cacti are the most badass plants and so are these guys.

Little known fact, but a good way to "see" where you are going when you can't see is to move your feet forward in sweeping motions. Sort of like a crescent shape, this allows you to determine if there are obstacles in your path

I can confirm, getting stuck on cactus is horribly painful. I was out in the Aussie outback for a trip with the boys, and they pushed me off a rock and I landed right onto a bunch of cacti. Lets just say were still friends. Haha

This is the challenge that would get me. I have such a huge needlephobia that even standing there with one such in me that needed to be removed would probably make me pass out. It's not about pain, it's about the anxiety that the sensation provokes in me.
3 minutes in and I'm yelling "no, no, no," repeatedly.... then you mention cake...Mark- this really WAS braving the wilderness!!!!! Having the Brave Wilderness channel on a steady repeat in our household and having seen all of the videos so many times, I have to say that this video was wicked, wicked awesome!!!! Mark- way to go!!!! What is the recovery time for you after the spikes are removed? And "Mark are you ok?!" 😉
