Love your videos, Pat, and how you think :)! No floor for me either, my knees hurt just thinking about it. You are always so apologetic, but you do such a wonderful job of your videos, no need to apologize - I so appreciate the hard work you put into them. They are the highlight of my day. Also so enjoy seeing what everyone makes - and how different each project can look depending on the fabrics and layout.
Keep up the good work - you inspire me each time, to get down to my sewing room and just sew :)!

Good morning Pat from California. Thank you for all you do and for your work. I know it’s not easy doing all the photography, editing and filming plus all the sewing you do. Thanks for the review, some people are newer to quilting than others, so the whole discussion is helpful. I personally do pin basting, I tried the spray and it upset my sinuses, I try not to do aerosols at all. But, hey that is me. There are as many opinions out there as you have viewers, but we are all on Team Pat.

I was telling you as the video was running that you left out the actual spraying of the quilt with the 505 basting spray, but you weren’t hearing it. You just moved on. 😂. I thought, oh well. We all know how to spray, no need to show that, I guess. I love your videos and watch every morning as I eat breakfast and drink my coffee! It is like my “getting started for the day ritual”. I always learn something or am reminded once again of something I need to hear! Thank you so much for sharing your quilting life with us. It is a great start to my day!

Another suggestion for basting is to use the Free Fuse powder. It works well and I like that there is no odor. The way Pat applied the spray baste on her ironing board is exactly the way to apply the Free Fuse except sprinkling powder instead of spraying.

Pat, I love 505 Baste until it falls off the shelf and hits one in head above the eye. Yep! Even my sewing room can be a dangerous place. Had an egg and bruise for 10 days back in October. I also spray on my ironing board as you do. I do have the rectangular, long ironing board by Reliable which I love! I'm not a crossword player, but I do like Scrabble. I can't play with my closest friends as they use a dictionary to check words and they ask each other for help. No fun! I like to play by the real rules when it comes to Scrabble. Merry Christmas to you and Gregg!

I’m wondering if you do something specific with all the beautiful cards you get? I actually save the cards I get… THANKYOU cards, birthday, holiday, get well… I have a small box and I’ve saved ALL my cards since I was a teenager this might sound weird but, I think when I’m gone someday my grandkids might enjoy looking at the old cards and reading the little notes in them 🤷🏻‍♀️
I get fewer card as sending them isn’t as popular since the advent of the cell phone.
Anyways, you get a ton of cards. Some of which are tiny works of art! I’m thinking you couldn’t possibly save them all!

At 75 I can't do basting on the floor anymore. I did buy an extended top for my ironing board which works well for me. But beware, it is very heavy. Also Hobbs et al. makes fusible batting, which I have used from time to time. It's all personal preference and what is in one's budget IMO. I love your videos and thank you very much for them 😊 🎄

Hi Pat. I bought styrofoam boards that come in a package of 5 or 6 sheets 2’X5’ in the insulation section of Lowes. The whole package cost about $10. I taped them together so that I could fold them together for storage. I place this on my queen size bed so I have a solid surface to spray baste on. This has been working for spray basting and I don’t have to crawl around on the floor. Oh, and I do shield my bed linens with an old sheet. It works!!

If a dirty wool mat is bothersome, create a form-fitting pillowcase cover for it, pin the opening tightly, and iron on that. The cover is easy to wash.
Or do what I did and put 100% wool yardage under a cotton ironing board cover I made. Since I did that I don't even need to use wool mats anymore.

Yes everyone loves Oh my stars! I took one quilt to a guild meeting, and so many members wanted to know where they could find the pattern. I know I have made at least 3 quilts and a tablerunner.

I didn’t pay attention that you didn’t show the spraying part. I did one quilt on the floor (king size). After that I started using painter’s tape on my dining table. I send twin size and above to the spa now anyway so it is not an issue. I always enjoy seeing the quilt parades. I love seeing what other people put together. Thanks a bunch!

Awwww Love the little twinkle stars! I needed a border cornerstone last week and they would have been perfect! I'll have to remember for next time I need border cornerstones.
No floor work for me either--my knees don't like it.🤣 Thanks for showing the Oh My Stars! table runners--so cute!

Hi Pat! How much background do you recommend for your revised quilted witch/garden quilt? This will be my over the holidays project… thank you and Merry Christmas!

Loved seeing the table runners. So pretty. I did wonder about spraying, lol, but figured you, like most of us, just had a moment of oopsie. Merry Christmas 🎄

I was wondering why you hadn’t shown the actual spraying but I didn’t question it. That’s for the redo - I like the way you press as you go. I have always pressed when the spraying is done. I like your way better.

I keep a book of crossword puzzles in my car for whenever I am going to be in a waiting room. Staring at the walls with nothing to do makes me crazy! The puzzles also make the waiting time go by much faster.

Yes I do a crossword puzzle daily. Most times only 8-10 questions a day.
