    Another excellent video Courtney! You demonstrate perfectly the virtues of patience when composing a shot to get the image you’re going for, including the decision to not take the photo if it’s just not meeting your requirements. That really resonates with this amateur. Also enjoyed the post editing bit, equally educational. Thanks again, looking forward to your next episode. 👍😀

    Thank you for showing the editing part as well. It's as important as shooting in the creative process. Few creators do it. They either show the final image or an endless tutorial. This is just complete and well balanced.

    Welsh person providing phonetic assistance, best they can..
    ' frood-grrrairch' But the ch is prononounced the same as in the Scottish word 'loch' .
    Some other Welsh person/pedant (!) will probably come along and advise different, but no matter, it's just a name, the place, and celebrating the place is infinitely more important.

    one tip, at 4:41 one other filter you could use, is a ND, a big one, 2 or 3 stops, this gives a long shutter speed (1/2/3 seconds) which would blur the water, and create a nice landscape shot.

    For the mushroom shot, I was wondering if perhaps you had increased the power of your light and bounced it off the silver reflector which would have softened the light. As for a second light, you might consider the Godox TT350 and their first radio transmitter (cheaper than the current ones). This flash is wonderfully small and light, very little added weight to your bag. It also has the versatility of a stronger light source than your current LED continuous light. I have used flash during the day shooting in coastal BC (British Columbia) forests with an even thicker upper canopy of branches than in your forests. I am usually firing it at very low power levels and on manual of course.

    • @CourtneyVictoria
      @CourtneyVictoria  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oooh that would have been a good idea to try! Funnily enough I been taking a look at the Godox flash range recently, so your recommendation comes at the perfect time. Something small and light would be ideal. I'm hesitant to add more to my camera bag at the moment, there's too much in there already! Many thanks.

    Hi am a new sub looks like a great channel. I have the Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG OS HSM Macro Lens but I bought it for the Canon EF mount on an adapted R7. I use it with the Canon 1.4xIII and the 2xIII. I would have loved a D850 but I couldn't justify it as I'm planning a Z8 purchase with a F-ZII adapter. Got a Sigma 300-800mm F5.6 Nikon F variant. A bit heavy will get the fringer EF-NZII adapter for my other nice Canon lenses. Have you tried using an iphone15 pro max for maro.. I get such great macro pics. I'm curious to know your thoughts regarding "dressing the scene." For example, removing the stick overhanging the falls in the first setting you shot. Do you ever do it, is it appropriate, etc?

    • @CourtneyVictoria
      @CourtneyVictoria  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think it is up to the photographer really. If you have a specific vision for how the image will turn out and removing things like that will help you get there, then there is nothing wrong with that. :) The stick overhanging the falls didn't really catch my eye too much or bother me in anyway and so I was happy for it to be there.

  • @AndrewConnor-w4m
    @AndrewConnor-w4m 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Never realised the amount of editing... understand some of it. Why remove that 1 leaf? was it because of too much contrast to the overall - or you felt it drew the eye to it? Nature is perfectly imperfect in many ways... so more intrigued by this one. Andy C

    I watched the MPB advertisement on this channel and traded in two of my cameras in good and excellent condition for a mirrorless camera in "like new" condition. However, the "like new" MPB camera arrived with a dirty sensor, a scratch on the protective shutter, and the cheapest charger instead of the original. The price of this camera was only a few hundred euros cheaper than a new one in the store, and they bought my cameras for a ridiculously low amount. Also it's not profitable at all to trade lenses with them, for example, they buy a Nikon 24-70/2.8 G for 250-300 euros, while their prices for used lenses can be HIGHER than new ones in the store! For instance, a second hand Nikon 24-70/2.8 Z MPB price 1.819 Euro BUT absolutely new in other stores with Nikon adv program price was 1700 +/-

      Obviously it's not profitable. You have to pay VAT, their work if it's reconditioned, their profit and also the shipment. It's a market whit no sense and also the reseller are a finger in the "back" when you want to buy a second hand camera or lense at an auction. But at least they sponsor this beautiful lady😌

      It's a little weird that you bring that up here in Courtney's video but ok. Personally, MPB has worked well for me. They gave me far more for my used lens than I expected and the items I have purchased from them are fine. I assume you have tried contacting them regarding your issues? Unless you have done that I don't think your public criticism is valid. Also, don't they have a 60 day guarantee on any purchase?

    I'm surprised to see you need to disable the down vote (not that I've ever used it on one of your vids), but it says to me you've been getting spammed. True?
    Always interesting and enjoyable.
