Thx for posting was interested in this , even with 2 years of cdl exp, its still a pain to find a new job. Theres allways seems to be something that really brings what could be a great job into i see why your turnover is so high.
hey man, I appreciate the video. I'm on the same boat as you. I also want to haul fuel but I've been talking to many drivers, and they tell me I need at least 1 year of experience. the problem with that is i cant find any local companies that will hire me and i dont want to do over the road.
Ran into the same thing. I did talk to a fuel driver once and he told me if you can do beverage delivery for 2 years the experience transfers to the Fuel Role due to being able to get in and out of small parking lots. I personally knew I wouldn't last in beverage for 2 years lol.
@@kenxclout nope they sent me that virtual interview like within 3 to 5 days but I heard sometimes the next day they’ll send it, but they never hit me back up. I just replied to them.
I have a friend in management at the plant here in CC who’s gonna get me on once I finish getting my Class A. So far so good. I’m only 20 so this is definitely the route for me to get some experience under my belt and money in the bank while finishing my degree online! Either this or the military.
Congrats to you. Definately a young man's game. It's hard work but you will bank OT. It was hard for me with a family and its the hardest work I've ever done. I should have went military after HS. Instead went to college which confused me even more. Still searching for my thing. Good luck to you!
Drove for them in Ormond Beach Fl for a year. The good days were great…. But man the bad ones were terrible. Not having pallet jacks, terribly stacked pallets that fell over during transport. Lots of disorganization. 10-13 hr days. Grumpy receivers. And nasty Gas stations. Ended up using my CDL to get on at the natural gas company. But somehow, someway, I miss the hell out of 7-Up every now and then. Best of luck out there!
Hahaha. Definitely right about those nasty gas statiom bathrooms. Super filthy. Man Dr Pepper help unlock a beast in me. Showed me that I have more to give in a day than just 8hrs and 40 hrs per week. So I'm using all my resources to start my business and launch it. I didnt get to far with my CDL just yet. Too many hoops to jump thru with the lack of experience and I can't go OTR. So I'm trying to make my own way. My ultimate goal was to haul fuel but there was NO way I was staying at DR Pepper for two years. Hardest job I have ever had.
@@straightin9471 the toughest job I ever had! When I first started it was $165 a day and I was stuck on a side loader for a few months. It was weekly pay. And I came with my CDL prior to getting hired. No reimbursement. I did hear that if you started in warehouse they would pay but that was after years.
I know you say its hard work, but I been over the road for 3 months after getting my CDL in May 2023. I just want to be home everyday. I just did a virtual interview with Dr. Pepper.
transport driver hauls the sugar tankers across the US. Then Bulk drivers deliver large quantities of beverages to large retailers like Walmart and only unload the product with a pallet jack into the store. The Local UDS Driver stops and delivers at mom and pop stores and manually unloads product and stocks store shelves.
You sound so damn whiney the entire video lol. I been with KDP for 5 years in warehouse/driving 1. Warehouse doesnt have to put an electric jack in the truck because theyre supposed to charge overnight 2. You get 1 dolly because you dont need more than 1 to do the job, its not uncommon for people to lock up THEIR assigned dolly. 3. You set yourself up for failure looking for a local/ no touch job fresh off getting your CDL, good luck with that one.
I start my orientation for class a vending machine delivery driver tomorrow over here in NYC wish me luck.
I appreciate your video fr, I actually desire this job verse being over the road as a trucker. Im praying I get the job after I interview
