Okay, some parts are truly shocking, but (for instance) take a look at Stoke on Trent, the decay is pretty much consistent everywhere. Jaywick actually has some nice bits, and there's been some recent building of new apartments and a small retail centre. (as you pointed out) At least it's by the sea!
What is interesting about Jaywick is it is the only place in the UK that has widespread negative land value (as opposed to depreciated). i.e. a dilapidated property is worth between MINUS £10,000 and £20,000 because of the amount of money you will have to invest to make it liveable and get a ROI either through living there and being employed (even if you have a remote job - you can do much better financially elsewhere! - e.g. Blackpool) or renting it.
Such a beautiful location. I'm surprised the town hadnt been redeveloped with affordable housing ...seeing there is a chronic shortage of housing. A beautiful beach nearby too.
I went there for a beach party 40 years ago. I heard that bungalow is a Indian word and you are right about it that they gave up building it and stuck a roof on it.
My mum lives up here and i lived with her til i was about 19 or 20,its been a shithole for years and ive nearly been stabbed up there multiple times, also jaywick is a part of Clacton-on-Sea,you actually walked past mums house.
All this chat about housing shortages and all this decay is allowed to happen. All this could be built back up, housing people and families needing places to live. It’s by the sea, factories and shipping yards could be developed there and millions of jobs could be created. Such a shame.
Understand one thing. Jay wick was built without any planning permissions as a holiday resort. The council refused to build any sea defences. It should not be there.

beach looks really nice shame that they don't do the area up
There was a huge flood along this part of the Coast in 1953. People died.

Name and shame them all via social media!!
they get the same amount of money as every one else . pension and doll. you mean there is no work there .
It's costing the British government £8million a day to accommodate illegal asylum seekers, that money could easily rejuvenate jaywick,
