Exactly. Furina even explicitly says she's still learning. After 500 years of having her own professional/personal cooks, she's making a genuine attempt to learn self sufficiency.
People are making fun of her, but last I checked, pretty much everyone starts out making simple dishes like boiling pasta and using pre-made sauces while actually learning how to make the dishes themselves.

I like the Real Furina she’s gentle and there so much warmth in her voice compared to the diva persona she was forced to adopt

not just that... more like she finally have the deserved rest.. as it also a mix of exhaustion and relief.. she is still a very good poetic speaker relating in her dramatics but it screwed up her pysche so much that she admits she cant remember how she used to be when she was so embedded wearing her mask and even the AQ on the focalors part the spotlights scene indicates even her very subconscious had been screwed to see herself as that actress in a waiting game... off cam she in the past probably cried out, break down but the dedication is outstanding and trust so much to her focalor's self on the plan without question even if she never knew whatever the updates about for centuries and decades it was 499 years and 8 months! if you calculate the scene numbers. closest reminds me of the movie Dave 1993
Im loving the "struggling theatre actress" vibe she has on this part of the quest! Really sells her fatigue from acting as an Archon for 500 years.
When you think about it, that was the performance of several lifetimes. And now she finally has a chance to do what she's denied herself for 500 years. Live an ordinary life. I say let her have macaroni.

I love the approach of Furina now having a softer, gentler voice than before
The VA did such a good job. Her first dialogue in the story quest sounds so soft and gentle but you can also feel the exhaustion and relief in her voice. A total 180 from when we first meet Furina, yet both personas were nailed perfectly.
So disappointing that no one say sorry to Furina for the trial, she believe that she failed after 500 years of suffering and than no one cared about her
I think it's implied that Neuvillette passed on Focalors' words for Furina, including her apology. So at least there's one (not that it's enough or anything)...

That will also happen if it happens in real life Furina will remain a scapegoat for many fontainians for years to come but the most important thing is she is free

The neat thing is "La lettre Focalors" is actually the basis for her signature dish. So she does canonically learn how to cook after this quest.

Classic Hoyo, they make an extremely likeable character and then make them suffer until enough suffering based character growth makes them into a shinning dimaond
Now she is living a normal human life, away from the bright lights of superstardom. This is THE perfect arc for her. To see her struggles, failures and triumphs of finally being “Furina, the human,” and not “Foçalor, the Archon.” It’s bitter sweet in the best way

well the point is that she had been pretending to be an archon for 500 years, and now she wants to live a normal life

i suppose that's why focalors called her the 'ideal' human...?

She deserves it. 500 years playing a role that you eventually detest can really make you go crazy. A human trying to act and think as an Archon, who follows different set of mores and thinking, can really do a lot of things to your psyche.

But atleast unlike Ei, being forced to live on her own without servants making her food will eventually make her need to learn on her own.
Although her saying she learn easily sounds like bluster, in-game wise she can cook 😅, it is just cuz she is still too depressed, drained, and directionless after the whole ordeal of 4.2 in her SQ to take care of herself just like any other depressed human who disassociates reeling from a traumatic event to actually put in the mind to cook anything complicated beyond Macaroni and Interchangeable sauce.
That was so tone-deaf for Paimon in my opinion.

I just realised that her long hair version is the archon as her hair glows when in that form. This is her human form. She cannot change modes in lore but the character furina that we can play as are both archon and human

@@silverhawkscape2677 i dont think that is the case, as before "focalors" died, furina still had divinity. People would be outraged if they expected an archon but got a normal human furina after the sacrifice. So ig its a mechanic to let you play as both, the archon and the human

@@Jibrail5726 If you think about it, that was another hint of the link between them - in her archon form, her long hair is a style reminiscent to Focalors. In her human form, her shorter hair shows that she's living as herself instead of being under a curse
@@fierytigergaming8112 yep. I think that we can play as both, as she cannot change her allignments in the lore and beforw focalors died, furina had long hair. So in the story, furina is no longer the archon but we can still play her as such.

Eh, based on the fact that Furina's signature dish is a variant of La Lettre de Focalors, I think it's safe to say that her eating only macaroni is more of a temporary thing.
Macaroni bolognese is a superb everyday dish, idk why furina is clowned for not being able to cook, she can already sustain herself and that's an achievement

She is in her 500s, I'd say it isn't too much to ask for her to be able to go out for groceries every once in a while. Especially since she likely lives on a state pension anyway, and literally has to take care of nothing else than essentially not dying of starvation...
@@Jafar545the fact she can do much of anything after all she went through is an accomplishment all on its own. Though I haven’t read the story quest, even her voice tells you just how tired she is, and I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s in a depressive slump.
And considering how she’s been living for the past 500 years, it’s not surprising she doesn’t know how to cook well. And it’s not like she can’t cook at all, she’s still managing.
This emergency food really do have a big mouth to say someone doesnt know how to cook when she is almost at a cooking range.
Archon's food lifestyle:
Venti: beggar
Zhongli: properly work and cook
Ei: supreme leader cooked by her servants
Nahida: newly elected leader, a bit awkward to ask servants
Furina: newly abdicated leader, living on instant noodles
At least Furina tries to cook unlike a certain Archon...

This precious little being suffered for 500 years, did not learn to cook because there was an implied idea that gods do not cook and were usually served. So I'm not surprised or disappointed, but crying tears of joy that shes making efforts to learn to cook and make baby steps.

This is entirely different than the JP dub.
In the JP dub Furina is still sounds like the same person she was even after suffering from a lot of trauma during the Archon Quest as if nothing happened. It makes sense in a way since Furina has been acting as the Hydro Archon for 500 years and basically became a part of her.
But in EN Furina sounded tired as if a huge burden has been lifted out of her shoulders and we get to see the real Furina, of course when Furina is cornered, angry or scared she slips back to the Hydro Archon act. Showing on how much acting as the Hydro Archon affected Furina and became a part of herself.
Overall both JP and EN did a great job on Furina's Story Quest.
I just want her to get an apology. I feel so bad.
Furina is a French person but she's really into Italian food.

It feels conflicting to hear Furina's soft spoken voice, I'm really happy for her but I really got used to haughty Furina (This is the only way I can describe her old tone and voice) and it sort of felt like talking to a shy past Furina for some reason

The haughty version was the fake version of her that she only started using because the idiot Fontaine people didn’t take her seriously at first, but I prefer this gentle, calmer Furina. And she still has her sassy moments her and there but it’s not over exaggerated like her the haughty Furina

What do you mean? Mona doesn't have food because she spent all her money. Furina, on the other hand, has money from Neuvillette but she doesn't want to be seen or noticed by people since she has PTSD so she chooses to buy food home but poorly she doesn't know how to cook so it ends up as macaroni everyday.
