    As of 2018, it turns out Alpecin have actually been banned from saying their product can help to reduce hair loss (because it doesn't work): www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/alpecin-caffeine-shampoo-banned-reduce-hair-loss-advertising-standards-authority-a8276951.html

      the results of this study are promising because they show that an effective natural ingredient like caffeine can be considered as an effective alternative treatment to common drug therapies against hair loss. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5804833/

      @Major Damage this is an advert for nioxin and he’s actually trying to dress it up as if it’s an honest review. Alpecin reduces thinning hair, it is a fact that caffeine boosts growth…. I’m sure Nioxin works aswell but the way this clown is discrediting other brands and trying to do it as if he’s doing a no biased factual video is fucking disgraceful!

    There are unbiased studies that prove caffeine shampoos do suppress DHT on the scalp. Caffeine also increases the speed of hair growth and stimulate the roots. Maybe the key is the leave Alpecin on the scalp longer than 2 minutes and maybe use micro needling once a week for example to try and stimulate the follicles even more. I will say one thing about Alpecin that it certainly thickens hair on a cosmetic note!

    Hey guys! I wanted to share my story here because I found Nioxin in this video and in the James Robin one (WHICH IS A SPONSORED VIDEO) that Ben mentioned. Well, from my experience Nioxin is a complete scam. I've been using Alpecin for the past 2 years and my biggest mistake was to stop using it from time to time. Instead, I had higher expectations and bought Nioxin. I've used the system 2 kit and it landed in the trash after just 3 weeks. I have male pattern baldness and in 3 weeks I lost more hair than during the 2 years when I was using Alpecin. Alpecin doesn't do wonders, but at least it stops further hairloss if you are consistent (I used the liquid in the morning and the shampoo AND the liquid in the evening). So I completely disagree with this video, I just wanted to give you guys a hint what to expect and what not from Nioxin (aka. it can't stop your hairloss, but makes your hair a little bit fuller after you used it).

    • @navalh8679
      @navalh8679 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      This is the most accurate comment I've come across. Thank you.
      Please tell me, since you used Alpecin Liquid in the morning, did you wash it off with the Alpecin Shampoo in the evening before applying the 2nd use of Alpecin Liquid for the day?
      Also, are you saying that even with consistent use of Alpecin Liquid twice a day, everyday + using Alpecin Shampoo every day, that you didn't notice any thickening or regrowth (of existing thinner hairs) ? (You just felt your hair looked visibly fuller?)

  • @CaliforniaCarpenter7
    @CaliforniaCarpenter7 4 ปีที่แล้ว +29

    Before reading any other comments, I just want to say that for my part, seeing a guy with a full head of hair condemn a product that claims to prevent hair loss is ridiculous. When I turned eighteen I developed an absurdly pronounced widow's peak along with a developing bald spot on the back of my skull. This is called alopecia, and it runs in my family thanks to one Grandmother.
    Not saying I believe in these products, but it does not matter to me that a guy with all his hair doesn't like them

    I think you're being too harsh. I did not expect miracles when buying my caffeine shampoo, but I certainly find less strings on my palm or on my desk when running my hand through my hair than before. There are always non-commercial, medical shampoos that you can only find in a pharmacy that I'm sure work better than either Nioxin or caffeine shampoo.

    Loved your video definitely going to start saving some money for that other product but have to say.... I've been using alpecin for 8 months, I could actually see in my brushes there were less hair on it. I decided to let it grow, but then I started noticing it started feeling really dry and since they had no conditioner to go with this product (even asked them for recommendations but they rather just pushed tonic liquid which I was already using anyways) decided to just add a random conditioner... After a month I started mixing up some random oils known to motivate hair growth (rosemary, castor oil, tea tree, mint, avo oils, olive oils - you know my own little mixtures) you wouldn't believe my luck, went to town last week for the first time in years without wearing a hat. I decided to cut my hair to get a closer look and really my bold spot is completely gone. My point is even when you find a product, you still need to come up with your own little twist. There is a little scientist in all of us.... 😜 Thanks for the video, absolutely love your vibe.... Let's see what else you're going on about.. 🙈

      Hi Brian, you are absolutely right about what you're saying and this is actually the exact approach I've been thinking about (using hair promoting oils as sort of conditioner for my hair at night to counter the drying effects of Alpecin and to also give added simulation to my scalp.) Love the idea.
      My plan is to use Alpecin Liquid in the morning, then in the evening wash it our with Alpecin Shampoo, then towel dry my hair and then apply Alpecin Liquid for a second time (because there was a study done that said Alpecin Liquid used twice a day gave the same results as 5% Rogaine! ). Then before bed I will use a mixture of hair promoting oils like Rosemary + Peppermint Oil (Essential oils) mixed with Coconut Oil (Carrier Oil) to counter the drying effect of Alpecin 😎🧠

    i am a girl. I don"t know if Alpecin helped me i have nice hair but i had more hair definitely 8 years ago. Alpecin has nice fresh smell it dries the hair a little so you must use something after shampooing. It helps grow hair faster but i don't think it helps regrow the hair you lost maybe helps save the one you got.

    I've using Alpecin for a few months now, and I've stuck with it.
    Being honest, although I haven't noticed any hair regrowth, since *I've* been using it, it's made hair look thicker, fuller, made it a *LOT* stronger and I've noticed a *massive* reduction in hair loss. And that's why I'm sticking with it.

But don't mess around with your hormones without the advice of a qualified physician.
