    Congrats Kathy and Bob! I’ve been infatuated with the Viking line-up. Looking forward to seeing some performance / fuel burn specs with the S-21.

      After Sun N Fun we hope to collect a lot of data. Kathy is already flying and downloading info from their Dynon screens.

    Hello Kathy and Bob. It's great to see your plane airborne. The craftsmanship on your plane is beautiful. The Viking engine sounds great. Enjoy and do share more videos. Atilla.

    Looks great. Nice work! The Rans S-21 with the V-150 is also what I'm pretty much settled on. Hopefully I'll be seeing you all a lot later next year.

    That may just be the perfect plane/engine setup! Love it.

      I have dedicated my life to it being so :). If you could get everyone onboard on that idea, we sure could all make it that way. It is a great airplane. Fun to fly, cheap to operate and plenty of performance. Did I mention the engine is made in Anaheim OH by Honda :)

    Do you have a skid spring on the tail as I saw on one of your Z-750’s? The touch and go near the end of the vid showed the tail getting close.

    I like that you guys are expanding the aircraft compatibility. I love the S21! Any thoughts about a package for a Murphy Rebel?

      We have a Murphy Rebel ready to fly with our Viking 150 :)

      @@eggenfellnerI've actually been thinking of doing something like that but with the Radical once it goes into production

    Viking Aircraft Engines, would you be willing to elaborate why you have a preference of the 150 for this airframe vs the 195? Always appreciate your thoughts.

    • @eggenfellner
      @eggenfellner  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      With the lighter engine the header tank can be smaller and overall weight lower. The 195 is heavier and more complex. It is a great engine but we feel a 150 with the variable propeller is a great choice. Lighter, reasonably priced, good performance, simple to maintain, etc.

      Do you prefer the 150 for the Super Duty as well? My brain just keeps coming back to HP good, Turbo-normalized performance better. 😆
      Really interested in more info about this. Looking to see more Viking powered Rans aircraft!

    • @eggenfellner
      @eggenfellner  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, not at all - the SD is quite a bit bigger than the S21 and needs the HP

    Beautiful airplane! Would the 180 fit in this plane ???

    • @eggenfellner
      @eggenfellner  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We like the 150 engine in it but yes, we have everything for the bigger engine as well

    the hard thing about costal flying is that winds can change 180 degrees in early morning and afternoon. Is the Viking ECU controlled? ECUs make me nervous.Ive been stranded in my truck when the ECU failed and on my motorcycle. I was in the computer industry for 30 years. I dont trust them. maybe its time for me to get over it. there are two Viking powere CH 750s on our field and ive had some stick time on both and the engines performed wonderfully. My 750 has a 95hp VW in it. flies great but I think when the next rebuild rolls around I'm going with a 150 Viking and stick the VW in a homebuilt sand buggy

      We don't use the car ECU, but in 1500 engines we have never seen an ECU issue without cause - the few that have happened have been person shorting it or lithium battery involved and never in flight etc.

    Curious what the numbers ended up being. Considering the S-21 myself.

    hi Jan:
    what do you have in the titan 340 power class?

    • @eggenfellner
      @eggenfellner  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We have full firewall forward with our Viking 195T - although, we prefer the 150 setup on it.
