    Got to love the workers sitting right next to a Valenta as it's spooling up.

    Love the track workers taking a break in the centre as a HST screams out the centre

    Some running repairs to the grills of 43099 I noticed. The lack of Class 91's would suggest the electrification had not yet been switched on to York.

      No, the 91s were on the Leeds workings with MkIII coaches & an HST as DVT. It was getting close though to switching on. Funny to think now that the 91s are being scrapped......

    Noise made by these HSTs is fantastic

      Valanta powered HST's sounded great, some were real screamers if the driver wound them hard!

    Excellent HST sounds. And thank you once again for zooming in on the numbers. 😎 The West Yorkshire PTE livery looked quite good, I thought; I wouldn't go so far as to say it could make a Class 155 look good, but it was better than many

      Valanta HST's always sounded good! I had a Platform 5 Combined Volume and used to underline the trains that i caught on video!.....

    Good stuff once more.
    The Class 110 DMU had one of the really rare Class 108 TBSL's in the middle, with just six of the type ever made!

      Thanks for the info, there was so much variety with DMU classes i never caught up with it all!

    Thanks Soi, lots of great sounds there from the 43's and 47's. Good to see the PW team hard at work there too lol.

      York was at the end of it's works phase for the electricification of the ECML. The 91s were already working on the Leeds diagrams and it wouldn't be long before they replaced some of the HST's on runs further north. Of course, happily the HST's stayed for the Aberdeen & Inverness workings!

    The intercity 125 footage is always now going to have a nostalgic value now their "heyday" is over - (Not withstanding their use on secondary duties elsewhere)

    • @SoiBuakhaoRoutemasterbus
      @SoiBuakhaoRoutemasterbus  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, their main line use is at an end but we will still have around another 10 years in Scotland and the West Country.....

    Nice catch of 101 + 110 with 108 TBCL there! Some of my fave machines here with 43079, 43118 (1 of 1st into IC swallow), 47477 (i snapped outside OC factory '88, way off track, last overhauled 7.84). And the soon to be reallocated to OC 47543 which lasted in blue until CEM at ZF 11.90 and paint into parcels red. Cheers for sharing sir!

      I might be wrong but the first 110 driving car appears to have had its cab roof replaced with something non-standard, sans headcode box? I thought it was a 103 at first glance although they were all long gone by 1989.

      I was right, here it is. Fitted with a 104-style cab roof, how odd.

      Probably the result of accident damage at some point, amybe the engineers used parts from a withdrawn class 104?.....

    • @djtrainspotter
      @djtrainspotter 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SoiBuakhaoRoutemasterbus Yes, the only research i can find is the cab was replaced after fire damage so fitted with a 104 as that was all that was available mid eighties apparently :)

    Also interesting to think that with the wires going up, people no doubt thought that those noisy HSTs would soon be replaced, except for a small number needed for services away from the wires, when in fact they were still around for the best part of another 30 years! 🚜

    • @SoiBuakhaoRoutemasterbus
      @SoiBuakhaoRoutemasterbus  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, i was here this day to catch the HST's think they wouldn't be seen much once the 91s started. But the Inverness & Aberdeen's, the Cross Country workings and the extra sets brought back to increase capacity on the ECML, they never really left!

    Hi mate! Nice video, would there be any chance of me using a few clips off this video for me to make a memorial video for the 125s, I will credit you in the video, would that be OK?
