  • Emei Mountain is one of the four sacred Buddhist mountains in China, and has long had a strong connection to the mythology of Kung Fu, particularly in Southern China.

YMAA (the “old” and respected publishing company of Dr Yang Jwing Ming here in America) has several Emei kung fu resources I have studied, including a Baguazhang style. Still, it seems like a much smaller and less prolific (or less surviving) martial tradition than the other mountains. (But that’s also something to like about it).

Is Emei Shan still Daoist also or is it 100% Buddhist now. But from the video It looks more like tourist place anyhow.

As far as I know, it's been mainly a site of Buddhism for a good thousand years. Daoism is more Qingcheng Shan which is a few hours away.
And yes, it was quite touristy. Didn't have the atmosphere that Wutai Shan had. That said, it's quite a large area, and I'm sure there are temples more focused on genuine practice away from the eyes of prying tourists.
