- After working hard in Isla Mujeres to build up our cruising kitty, we take a long weekend vacation into the interior of the Yucatan to explore more cenotes and ruins.
We were both captivated by remote, quiet, and friendly Coba. We spent our first day hunting down cenotes in the jungle and were NOT disappointed!
Desiree reflects on her fears about not being adventurous or fun anymore.

as a lover of cruise ships, thank you for not acting like you're better than tourists and above doing touristy things. i get that getting off the beaten path is good, but tourists spots are also popular for a reason. too many other sailing channels crap on us "tourists" haha.
2 buds and a boat.....you guys know how to have fun together...in the end, that is what really matters most.....don't let life get in the way of living.....

Don't usually comment, but as they say in the movies, " you a make a me cry ". Touching ending and you added to the effect by extending the last section with the laptop on the dock. Made for a moving and dramatic closing. You truly captured what this is all about. You both indeed have come full circle. Awesome!

This was a very personal and intimate episode of both of you exploring inland into Mexico, I know some people will not like it as much as other episodes, because its not directly sailing.. but what's the point of sailing around the world, if you don't explore what it has to offer when you get somewhere?

Hey H.V! Yeah that cave was pretty crazily oxygen deprived, haha! I didn't realize we were gasping so much either until I watched this! I ended up having to go back up to the surface because I was starting to feel faint! And yes- I'm so glad I didn't lose my excitement for travel! Phew! -Desiree
Wow has Tulum emerged as a major travel destination! Back in 1999 there was no one around. We walked down the beach from our cabana for $2 a day and had the place all to ourselves. But its still a beautiful destination. Good times. Gotta love the Lonely Planet Travel Guide...

Wonderful episode. Those cenote's in Coba always have that low O2 issue. Had some guests close to black out once climbing out. Especially enjoyed the life reflection at the end. VEry well presented!

Lamanai ruins inland from Ambergris Cay, Belize is a great excursion with two boat rides and quiet, less tourists and better nature experience. Altu hun is another good Myan site.

4:45... In 1994, I went to valley of the kings in Egypt and I was very surprised that I could actually touch the 2500 thounsands years old paintings with my own hands... So I ask the guide how come there were no protections... He replied... not enough money! I learned a lesson! So.. just keep your hands and your feet off any archeological grounds because they are not yours to touch and fool around with! They belong to all human kinds! Not to you!

Creepy diving under. I found Gotobay caves in Bermuda years ago, Climb inside to a cold water pond then dive under to go outside to the ocean water that is 15degs warmer. Only at low tide tho. you need 1 minute of air or die..

Did you go to the Coba ruins? When I was there a while ago you could still walk to the top of the pyramid and see for miles around.

Yeah can you imagine!! We met a sailor who sailed the yucatan 20 yrs ago and he anchored right off of the cliffs- can you imagine THAT view over your bow under the moonlight? So crazy!

Hi folks! I love your wonderful videos and your grand adventures into areas where I will never be able to go. In addition, you two are cute and, obviously, well informed. However, I must offer one humble suggestion. Is it possible for you to reduce the use of "like" in your excellent narrations? Sorry, but the teacher in me often rears its ugly head when I hear the prolific number of "likes" among so much of the grammar of today. Nevertheless, keep up the great work you are doing!!
