    Great update. As the captain I really appreciate how you treat your woman. I grew up with four sisters and quickly learned how a man is to treat a woman, and it seems that the two of you have mastered your relationship very well. Great to see!

    One of the best shows in all of media. Well done! So informative and we can vicariously live through all this great information. I come form a film production background, and your work y engaging and worthy of a Discovery Channel program. Better it’s here to binge watch! Bravo. Making me want to get back to the sea more and more! Well done and may your travels stay so strong.

    I love the way you show the real story. The feelings of escaping just the dock. The consequences of no AC and how it all ties into your experiences. It is not a fantasy. It is still life and things still have to get done and there are still consequences to all your choices. It is just not the 9-5 commute, wait for the weekend life that the most people are familiar with. Well done!

    After a lot of research I made the same to Anchor choices on my boat. I think you'll love the Mantis. It grabs and holds immediately. The oversize mantis will give you great peace of mind at the Anchorage on Windy Nights. Great video thank you!

    Ahhhhhh....Atticus looks so cute in the big lift. That big lift made it look like 6 guys could have lifted Atticus out of the water.😜 Obviously, I am joking around, because you have a beautiful home. Awesome to see you get back to anchor. You guys work so hard, that it will be great to see you get back to enjoying sailing and sightseeing. You mentioned going back to Cuba, and that's great. One of my favorites of your episodes is when you guys were being rebels, and did some rock climbing, touring a tobacco farm, and enjoyed the hospitality of the locals. Also....THANKS ALOT....because ever since I started watching your channel, without realizing it, I am now calling everybody BUDDY.

    I have the same primary/secondary anchor setup. Very happy. Great info guys. Danforth/fortress are for ONE DIRECTION. I have mine setup, ready to drop, and she's saved my ass more than a few times when the mantis has drug (which isn't often, but does happen).

    Jordan. What a great gal you have. Courageous, smart, kind and oh so funny. Such a contrast to so many of the other channels ladies. And Desiree...........your doing pretty good with that bloke of yours too. The way you show the nuts and bolts of cruising in clear detail is fantastic. Especially the navigation aspects. Very informative , very entertaining and very real. Love you both guys, well done. I'm heading for the Patreon page right now ⚓️

    Good job #TeamAtticus !!! - One quick, successful yard haul out and back at anchor.
    BTW - you know those RV bump outs that you can crank out when the RV is parked? You guys need an Atticus bump out for Desiree to use as a sewing room while on the hook.
    I love your summer is going well guys!

    That Mantus is a great anchor, and being oversized makes it that much better. I'm amazed at how others will classify their BEST anchor as their "storm" anchor, and use some other less regarded anchor as their "everyday" or "primary" anchor - LMAO! I don't get it.

  • @svvictory4379
    @svvictory4379 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I agree with your anchor choice,I have a Seaward 24 she came with a 9 llb anchor so I upgraded to a 14 llb delta,works great never dragged,and like you have a double bridal.ive been at anchor in 30 plus.I did have to beef up my bow pulpit to cope ,also make sure that bad boy is well secured on crossing.

    You guys must sail to nassau, Bahamas. I live there and the beaches are beautiful. The best place to anchor is over by Green Cay opposite Rose Island.

  • @snakeplisken4278
    @snakeplisken4278 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Cool anchors! In my opinion you just upgraded to the two best modern anchors on the market and they compliment each other perfectly. We carry a Mantus 45lbs for main anchor on 200 feet of 5/16 chain; a FX 23 lbs with 200 feet of braided rode(12 strand) + 30 ft of chain for stern/medmoor/kedging off) and finally a Mantus 105 lbs storm anchor on our 35 foot boat (but its displacement is 17500 lbs). We are probably going to use two x 150 ft 3/4 3-strand nylon roses for the storm anchor, each with 50ft x 5/16 chain, (similar to Uma as you probably know). Lastly our dingy anchor is a 14 lbs Delta.

  • @SailBeforeSunset
    @SailBeforeSunset 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    No experience with the Mantis, but we hear LOTS of great things about them. Much experience with the Fortress, and we have relegated ours to a stern anchor that does not do a good job. I've kedged out the Fortress many times out at Catalina Island and it's okay, but we want to change it. We have a 45 pound CQR and are buying a 65 pound CQR to handle things better. We will probably end up with a large, heavy Mantis.

    Especially for guys like you, who go on overnight trips inland and stuff, you want enough anchor so you can relax, and enjoy yourselves, without freaking out worrying if your boat is gonna drag while you are there there. How do you know if you have enough anchor? Easy! You want the other yachties to start making fun of you, for how big your anchor is, lol. I have a 75lb anchor on my low windage 35'er, and I sleep like a baby on 'ludes, hah.
