      @@_HalfDuck_ I don't think they ever intended to sell it to this kind of clientele...plus every reputable full frame mirrorless body out there already has 5+ stops of stabilization. TBH in-lens stabilization is a relic from the DSLR days and is a waste of money (and weight/expense/complexity) for modern mirrorless cameras.

    I might be on of the only ones, but I have the Sony 24-70 GM II, and I use the 24mm range a lot. I've noticed I use the standard ranges 24, 35-50, and 70 mm. I couldn't imagine losing that 24mm semi wide angle focal range to me indoors. My next two lenses will be the Sony 70-200mm GM II, and then perhaps the Sigma 85mm F1.4.

    Awesome video as always.

    • @fotografalexandernikolis
      @fotografalexandernikolis 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      That's not really correct as f2.8 on APS-C is equivalent to f4 on full frame, so it's really like a 25-105/4 which all brands already have. You have to apply the crop factor to the aperture too. There's a reason why the Tamron is only half the weight compared to the Sigma.
      I have it myself for Fuji btw and I love it, but I also know what I'm giving up compared to a full frame 2.8.

    I have the 35-150 by Tamron. I really value the larger apertures at shorter focal lengths. When I shoot events I’ll typically have a 24mm prime, and the 35-150mm. This sigma looks great, but doesn’t really replace or enhance my setup.
    Really with the 35-150mm was lighter though… that’s reason enough to consider this lens.

    Even if this is a 2.8, I'd still go for a 24-105 F4 for video because of the image stabilization. 24mm is also perfect for what I need. 28mm is kinda tight, I got rid of my 28-75 because the 28mm isn't wide enough, so no reason for me to get a 28-105.

    The thing is a bazooka… I decided to switch from my Sony A7iii to a Fuji x-t20 because of the smaller and great glassed available for the X mount. I’m an amateur photographer though, this is a great all around lens for a pro for sure.
    I’m happy with my decision for a smaller footprint, bout the 18-55mm f2.8-4 (best kit lens ever made for any system) 7artizans 35mm f1.4, and couple of vintage teles, super Takumar 135mm f2.5 and 200mm f4. Probably those 3 primes takes less space in the bag than this Sigma.

    If you're looking for a lens that you can take with you everywhere, anything over 500g doesn't make sense to buy - unless photography is your livelihood. I have a Sony A7C paired with a Sony 55mm 1.8 Zeiss and that's about the maximum I can carry. When I don't want to carry equipment with me, I just use my cell phone for convenience. Anything beyond that loses its meaning and only extinguishes the desire for photography.

    But that seems like enough extra size and weight that it’s probably not worth the added 30mm. Especially mounted on a 43MB a7Riii, such that I’ve got some solid cropping options, making my 28-75 feel longer than it is.

      There are some benefits. On a Sony body it seems G master lenses are linear manual focus and they purposefully don’t allow the bodies to set linear or accelerating so you have to go and buy their g masters for that. On Panasonic for example, almost lenses can be customised for linear manual including this one.
      On Panasonic, the quick clutch focus from auto to manual is really fast and a great benefit to using their pro line as opposed to Sigma lenses.
